The Beginning

On behalf of Trust Your Journey, I, Colby Cornell (Founder) am more than elated to share the wonderful birth of this organization. In late spring of 2015 while diligently pursuing my Bachelors degree at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical state university. I went to the mall and made two T-shirts one for myself and a close friend and Dj at the time with the word embroidered on the front “Trust Your Journey”. Simply as a means of inspiration to incorporate a healthy lifestyle while in the midst of college. I never knew that two years later that one action would shift the trajectory of the future. Fall 2016 I lost a aunt to cancer, a uncle to cancer as well and suffering from the toxic relationship. My mental state was in shambles and I sought out therapy on my universities campus. Two weeks later I attempted su***de. For the next 8 months I was endure weekly sessions to better understand the conditions of my mental health and the trauma that normalized effected me from a young age. Prior to meeting ( Daymond John) who advised a nonprofit was the route to go. I began a hashtag #TrustYourJourney for people struggling with Mental health to display their triumphs as well as failures. I wanted to utilize my influence and platform as a well to do student to show others that their is a way out of a dark place. One year later we are a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization growing at a tremendous rate with a few volunteers with really big hearts that believe we can change the world one broken heart, one lost soul, one misguided child, one stigma at a time. This isn't our season to glow its our season to grow!
