Therapy Dog Cruiser Follow Cruiser in his adventures as a therapy dog and in general everyday life as a Great Dane. He has never had any training, not even basic.

Cruiser was purchased from a reputable breeder as a companion dog for our newly adopted blind dane puppy. It was soon discovered that he would make a great therapy dog and so was tested with Alliance of Therapy Dogs just a couple months short of 2 yrs of age. Follow Cruiser in his adventures.

Nugget here. My mom was finally ready to return to Levine’s and took little o’l me. My first kiddo was sooo happy to see me and that made me and my momma happy too. His momma took this awesome picture of me, well the kiddos pretty cute too.
There was another widdle boy who only likes me so he was so excited when he saw me.
There was another couple of little peoples who mom said they were so gentle with petting and they had big smiles too.
My momma got some tears a couple of times but her was happy to be back, it was just a widdle hard cause her misses my big brother Therapy Dog Cruiser so much.
My mom will be back there tomorrow with my friend Therapy Dog Theo!!!! I gots to go with my dad to CMC.

Therapy Dog Cruiser took his last breath at 10:25 this morning. It seems he went down hill after his hospital farewell contracting pneumonia and the pain in leg was more than he could bare. It was a peaceful yet heartbreaking time but he is now pain free. He will be great missed by many.
I love you so much buddy, you were the absolute best Therapy Dog and we made an amazing team, you & me. I just don’t know what I’m going to do with you in my life 💔 🐾

Theo turns 2 years old today. He’s been helping Cruiser out the past few months by going with me room to room to visit the kiddos at while Therapy Dog Cruiser had the easy job of laying on the sofa while the kiddos come to him.
Theo has been doing a wonderful job and I can’t thank him enough for helping me out.

Therapy Dog Cruiser here.
I gots to tell ya about my day. I was pretty tired but my momma told me it was my last day at the hospital so I got my tail in gear and off we went. I got the cushy job of laying on the sofa like it’s my fav and the kiddos gots to come pet me and talk to me and love me. I’m really really going to miss my important job. Then, there was a pig surprise at da end of da hall, my mom opened da door and there was all my friends to wish me farewell on my last day. Them made me feel so darn loved, I is the luckiest boy ever. They gave me a bunch of giant cards they write nice stuff to me.
My mom tried to read some of them but then her said her had somethin in her eye. Maybe, she say I try again tomorrow.
Dank you alls for so darn much love I will miss you all and da kiddos.
My mom said to asks you’s about posting your pics here for us that you have of you and me. My momma said some of you have pics from back in da day when my face was not grey.

Sadly, tomorrow will be Cruiser’s last therapy dog visit at hospital.
Cruiser has debilitating arthritis in his elbow causing pain and mobility issues. After X-rays were taken to diagnose the elbow we discovered a mass on his lung. Further X-rays were taken and it’s not the only mass. Because of his cancer he is not a candidate for surgery on his elbow. Right now he’s getting palliative care and we will be sure he does not have to endure any suffering.
If anyone at the hospital would like to say goodbye to my precious boy we will be down by the ED at 11:50 AM after visiting the behavioral unit down there. He can’t walk far or we would go to each floor so he could say goodbye to all his friends that’s he’s made over his 7 years of volunteering. My heart is so heavy, he’s such an amazing boy, he’s my heart ♥️.

Therapy Dog Cruiser here to tells ya about me day. First my mom makes me take a shower the night before so I is all dry and clean the next mornin so I can get lots a pets from da kiddos. The next morning me and my little broder Nugget goes to Atrium Health, he does the big kid side and I do da widdle kids side. My dad drops me an my mom at the ED door so eyes don’t gotta walk so far. Dis puts me just steps from my assignment at Behavioral Health where I get to lay on da sofa with a pillow while I get so many pets and hugs, I feel so so wuved too. Da kiddos get to tell me stuff they don’t want to tell no humans and I just listen. Every now and din I might pick up my heavy big head and look into theys eyes. They sure do love me dar and I sure do love them dar too❤️.
