🎒✏️ School Supply Drive for Children with Developmental Disabilities & Their Siblings ✏️🎒
Help us ensure every child starts the school year confident and ready to learn! 💙

From May 1 to August 11, 2025, First In Families of Mecklenburg County, a project of InReach NC is collecting school supplies for children with developmental disabilities and their siblings. Your donations will make a lasting impact on local families working hard to achieve their goals.

We're calling on individuals, businesses, and community partners to join us as sponsors and supporters. Whether you donate a backpack or sponsor a full classroom’s worth of supplies, you’re making a difference.

Customarily, I send notifications about free or deeply discounted resources. However, today is different.

Every day, I am the grandmother of a vibrant grandson named Ethan, who has Autism and lives in Miami, Florida. The distance between us accelerates my need to serve kids in Charlotte, North Carolina as if they were part of my legacy. I do what I do and work where I work because I get to help differently-abled people every day. I do it because most of them REQUIRE our support to live healthier and fuller lives.

I am leaning on you to help support InReach NC efforts to provide more services to individuals with an intellectual/developmental disability by participating in our semi-annual fundraiser. SUN Bucks: Un nuevo programa de asistencia alimentaria para los

SUN Bucks: A new food assistance program for school children.
Starting this summer, families that qualify can expect to receive $120 per eligible child in grocery-buying benefits on a debit-like card. These benefits can be used to purchase food at retailers that accept EBT, including most major grocery stores.
Visit the SUN Bucks webpage at www.ncdhhs.gov/sunbucks to learn more.
IMPORTANT: Some families will get benefits automatically sent to the mailing address in their child’s school record. Update your child’s mailing address by March 28th by contacting your child’s school.
