Healthy PhiT Physical Therapy & Wellness Consultants, LLC At Healthy Phit, we help people define and achieve great health to live their very best lives.

Healthy PhiT Physical Therapy & Wellness Consultants was founded by Dr. Lisa Nichole Folden, licensed physical therapist. What sets us apart from other wellness organizations, is the fact that our services are provided by a medical professional with more than 15 years of experience working with clients ages 6 months to 100 years in a plethora of clinical (and non-clinical) settings. Dr. Folden's knowledge of the body's musculoskeletal system and how it works and responds to exercise, injury, inactivity along with how it interacts with the other systems of the body, allow for optimal detailed assessments and effective exercise prescription. Clients will receive a one hour comprehensive physical therapy evaluation followed by a written report highlighting areas of concern and an individualized exercise and wellness program addressing those concerns directly. Evaluations assess strength, range of motion, flexibility, joint mobility, sensation, muscle tone and considers all previously diagnosed medical conditions. This ensures that each client receives a program that is TRULY individualized and ONLY for them. Follow-up appointments are offered on a schedule that meets the clients needs to assess progress, modify exercise/wellness plans and address client questions and concerns.

Initial consultation fee is $175 and includes a one hour comprehensive physical therapy evaluation, written evaluation report and exercise/wellness program. Follow-up appointment fee is $125 and includes a one hour physical examination to determine progress and discuss exercise/wellness program modifications. All fees are billed directly to the client (no insurance billing) and due at time of service. Cash, credit/debit card and personal checks ARE accepted.

I said what I said.

Any "fitness" or "health" practice that compromises any dimension of your health & wellness (emotional, spiritual, financial, social, environmental, occupational, mental OR physical) is NOT HEALTHY.

Being berated, overworking your body and under fueling your body are NOT flexes.

And being the "fitness pro" facilitating these programs is dangerous, unethical and dumb as hell...to say the least.

Come on over to the side of fitness that prioritizes your whole self. You're an entire person who is so much more than a body.

And your body deserves kindness, love, care, respect and nourishment.

Except nothing less...from others and most importantly, yourself.

When we finally and collectively dissociate the size of our bodies from the state of our health, we'll be able to focus on the stuff that actually matters! LIKE HEALTH BEHAVIORS.

Health behaviors include things like (but not limited to):
- Water intake
- Physical activity (including frequency and type)
- Stress exposure and management
- Nutrient intake (vitamins, minerals, supplements, etc.)
- Sleep hygiene
- Environmental exposures and access
- Mental health practices
- etc., etc., etc.

And contrary to popular belief, you can positively engage in all of these health behaviors (and more) and STILL be in a fat body!

Don't hit me with another "but..." or "in my opinion..." because IDGAF.

We're not talking about YOU or your opinions. We're talking about people who don't look like you and who don't share your identities or privilege.

If you are a man, listen to women.

If you are straight and/or cis, listen to LGBTQ+ people.

If you are white, listen to Black, brown and indigenous people.

If you are thin or straight-sized, listen to fat and large bodied people.

Dassit. It's that simple. Use whatever ounce of privilege you have to create space for those with less.

And stay out of my DMs arguing with me about s**t I post, repost, research and/or teach. It's okay if my page doesn't fit your vibe. Keep it moving. And I don't actually owe you a conversation about it.

I said what I said.

I watched the documentary and while there were parts that were good, overall, they DID NOT speak truthfully to how bad their practices were on that show and more importantly, how bad dieting truly is for all of us long term.

And I reiterate: The worst thing they did was support the flawed ideology that existing in a large body is even a disease in the first place. SMH.

I will say it until I take my last breath: BEING FAT IS NOT A DISEASE.

Shout out to Aubrey Gordon for being the only voice of reason on this docuseries.

And let me also say in full transparency: I used to love that show. I was an avid watcher and I believed at one time that extreme fitness (not the humiliation part) was the way to "get healthy." But I'm soooooo glad I know better now.

Fat people aren't collectively harming you.

As a matter of fact, they are navigating societal harm perpetuated against them day in and day out and somehow STILL managing to experience some joy.

Leave them TF alone and let them live.
