International Overdose Awareness Day first began on August 31st, 2001 and was followed by an increase in engagement each year. On this important day, we are remembering those who have suffered from overdose and those who have lost a loved one to overdose. Eliminating the stigma and shame is paramount in putting an end to overdose, and the time to act is now.
