Today Is the Day 💙

Today is our final day of filling retail prescriptions at Dilworth Drug & Wellness. It’s a day filled with gratitude, reflection, and hope for the future.

For 17 years, we’ve been honored to serve this amazing community. We’ve shared countless moments—supporting your health, sharing stories, and building relationships. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

Our incredible team has been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition—filling prescriptions, managing transfers, and doing it all with dedication and heart. They’ve put in long hours and hard work to make sure your needs are met. Please join us in thanking them for their amazing efforts.

A Thought About Prescriptions:

We know that for many, prescriptions are an important part of health care. They’re necessary, and there’s no shame in taking them when needed. At the same time, we also believe that wellness can go beyond just managing symptoms. Our goal is to support you in finding balance, vitality, and lasting well-being.

🚨 Reminder:
Today is the last day to pick up prescriptions from us. Please come by before 6 p.m. to ensure continuity of care.
• Any prescriptions not picked up will be reversed and transferred.
• Your prescriptions will automatically transfer to:
Harris Teeter, 2717 South Blvd. | 704-527-1079
• If you’ve requested a different pharmacy, we are making sure those transfers are completed.

Honoring Our Journey Together 💙

Seventeen years ago, Jamie and I set out to create something more than just a pharmacy. We wanted Dilworth Drug & Wellness to be a place where the neighborhood could connect—a community hub where people felt cared for and supported.

We’ve watched the Dilworth community grow, and we’ve grown right alongside it. We’ve seen friends, families, and neighbors through life’s ups and downs, and we’ve been blessed to be part of your stories. Over the years, Dilworth became more than just a business—it became a staple of the neighborhood, a place of care, love, and connection.

As we wind down the retail pharmacy side this week, there have been tears, laughs, and everything in between. It’s a bittersweet time, and we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the privilege of serving such an incredible community.

While this week marks the final chapter of our retail pharmacy side, we want you to know—we’re not leaving. We are evolving. The pill bottles may be going away, but our heart, soul, and commitment to wellness are here to stay.

It’s our highest intention to continue to be a place where the community can gather, heal, and thrive. We are leaning even more into community, health, and wellness. In the coming months, we will be transforming and expanding. Stay tuned—the best is yet to come!

Our last day to fill retail prescriptions will be Monday, April 7th. Please pick up your prescriptions this weekend to ensure continuity of care.

After April 7th, we will no longer be able to fill or dispense prescriptions, as all records will be transferred to Harris Teeter.

Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs)—the middlemen controlling prescription payments—have made it unsustainable to continue.
In many cases, we’re being paid less than the cost of the medication.

We’ve tried everything. We’ve absorbed losses. But the math no longer works.
And we refuse to let a broken system compromise your care—or our purpose.

We are evolving into a wellness destination focused on:

🦴Proper bone health requires more than just calcium. Each ingredient in our OsteoSheath4 has been chosen for its unique role in supporting bone health.

☀️Vitamin D is well known for its benefit in aiding calcium absorption. Vitamin K2 is a lesser known, yet still important, contributor to bone health. OsteoSheath4 contains 1,200 IU of Vitamin D3.

🥛Once a calcium supplement or large amount of calcium is consumed, Vitamin D signals to the body that calcium is available for absorption. This helps to prevent the body from drawing calcium out of bone when it is available elsewhere.

🩸After calcium has been absorbed, there will still be some flowing through the blood vessels. This is where Vitamin K2 steps in. Vitamin K2 helps the body draw calcium from the blood to deposit into bone tissue.

❓❓ So why don't we include Vitamin K2 in OsteoSheath4? Vitamin K is well known for its ability to clot the blood. Although there is some evidence that the MK7 and MK4 forms used by Vinco do not affect clotting, anyone who is on a blood thinning medication should keep a close eye on their Vitamin K intake. We chose to make Vitamin K2 a separate product so as not to exclude those on blood thinning medications.

Food is so important to a healthy lifestyle and healthy blood sugar numbers. Choosing a diabetic diet or low glycemic diet has been shown to help maintain low blood glucose levels. Medication is necessary but adding in food that will help your medications work better or potentially need less medication is the goal. Food low in carbs and sugar while being high in fiber and lean proteins will help your body help itself and get your numbers where they need to be.

Part of self care is protecting your time and energy. Why waste this precious commodity on things that can't be controlled or changed. Make it a conscious effort to tell yourself to not waste time and energy on these things. Yu need to make it a habit and it will take practice but it is a worth while effort to your self care practice.
