✨ Welcome, New Friends ✨
To all of our new followers—hello and thank you for joining our community!
We’d love to reintroduce the women behind the Women’s Health & Resilience Foundation and share what drives us to do this work.
🩷 Shardell Artis – A fighter since birth, Shardell entered the world as a miracle baby weighing only 1 lb. 9 oz. In 2020, she faced one of her greatest battles—stage 2 breast cancer. Through chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, and emotional healing, she turned her journey into a calling: to mentor, educate, and inspire others about resilience, early detection, and the importance of knowing your family history. Her story is one of courage, faith, and unwavering determination.
🥊 Carrie Flock – Charlotte’s first female professional boxer, Carrie shattered stereotypes and made history with one of the fastest knockouts on record. Beyond the ring, she faced and conquered breast cancer, emerging stronger than ever. Her passion for empowering women led her to champion fitness, advocacy, and community service. Carrie continues to push boundaries and uplift others through faith, grit, and purpose.
🌍 Lavette Shirley – A Board-Certified Physician Assistant, educator, author, and mother, Lavette's journey has been defined by perseverance. As a young mother, she learned early the strength it takes to overcome challenges and build a future. Having also walked through the hardships of an unhealthy relationship, she chose resilience over limitation—turning those experiences into fuel for her mission. Today, she dedicates her career to serving high-risk communities, mentoring future healthcare leaders, and empowering women to claim their voice and their health.
Together, our journeys—though different—intertwined with a common purpose: to uplift, educate, and empower women through resilience and health advocacy. That is why we founded the Women’s Health & Resilience Foundation.
💪 We are here because we’ve lived the battles, learned the lessons, and believe in the power of community to heal, strengthen, and rise together.
We’re so glad you’re here. 💜
