The JFS Food Pantry clients really appreciate fresh produce, thank you Shalom Green: Shalom Park Environmental Initiative and community supporters!

Shalom Green volunteers harvested almost 9 pounds of produce in one morning. The produce grown in the garden is donated directly to the food pantry at Jewish Family Services of Greater Charlotte.

Funding for the garden depends on community support!
We need to raise $7,000 to grow and maintain the Shalom Park Community Garden in 2024!
The campaign ends on December 31st. Donate at https://shalomgreenclt.org/support

Every October, in recognition of Domestic Violence awareness month, JFS chooses a theme to shine a spotlight on the critical issue of domestic violence. This year, JFS asks a question to our community- if someone shared with you that they are feeling unsafe in their relationship, controlled by, emotionally hurt or are physically afraid of their partner- would you know how to help? With this year’s campaign, JFS is here to help us “Know what to say and know what to do.” This October, we invite you to learn more by visiting the table in the front lobby of the LJCC or visit jfscharlotte.org during the month of October.

This year JFS volunteers of all ages came together to enable 141 Rosh Hashanah gift bags to be delivered to senior adults and members of our community who might otherwise go without special treats for the new year.

We would like to thank Charlotte Jewish Day School, Ballantyne Jewish Center 6th grade Hebrew School class, Hadassah CLT Metro, Leah Groner-Levin, Chabad Young Professionals Uptown Charlotte, and the many volunteers who helped deliver the bags.

This year marked the highest amount of bags ever delivered, which is a testament to the growing needs of our community. We appreciate the generosity of all that gave time and resources to make a difference in our community!
