I’ve carried so much in my life.
Pain I didn’t speak about.
Walls I built to survive.
A heart that learned to heal itself in quiet moments when no one was watching.

But this year… I’m laying it all down.

This space… this photo… it brings me right back to a chapter of deep sacrifice, quiet strength, and immeasurable loss.

From September 2016 to October 2017, I traveled back and forth between North Carolina and New York to see clients, keep my business going, and simply survive. It was one of the most demanding times in my life—but I did what I had to do.

During that time, I stayed with a beautiful soul named Allison Hickey—a longtime client who became a dear friend. She opened her heart and her home to me. She gave me space to work, to rest, and to breathe. In the midst of my hustle, she made me feel seen and supported.

In October 2017, I made the decision to stop traveling and pour everything into building my business in North Carolina. I said goodbye to Allison, expecting I’d see her again soon.

But just one day after I left, she passed away suddenly from an aneurysm.

The news broke me. It was one of the deepest losses I’ve ever felt. She was light, generosity, and grace in human form. Her presence held me up during one of the hardest seasons of my life—and just like that, she was gone.

This post is for Allison Hickey, whose kindness carried me through. And it’s for every entrepreneur, healer, and heart-led human who’s had to carry grief in one hand and purpose in the other.

She was just a girl who wanted to help people.
Sensitive. Emotionally responsible.
Always carrying too much—everyone’s pain, everyone’s needs.
She didn’t know her worth back then.

In high school, she dreamed of going far, of doing something meaningful. But life had other plans.
There were no resources. No roadmap. No one she could truly lean on.

She trusted the wrong person, thinking love would save her.
It didn’t.
It nearly cost her everything—including her life. Twice.
But somehow, she kept going.

At 19, she became a mother.
By 21, she entered a relationship built on passion, not purpose.
It lasted 18 years.
That union wasn’t rooted in truth or healing—it was survival.

But survival wasn’t enough anymore.

So she made a decision:
To stop the cycle.
To break generational trauma.
To build a life her children could be proud of.
To build a business rooted in love, in connection, in wholeness.

If you truly know me, you know one thing:
I love hard. I give my whole heart — to my children, to my clients, to anyone who walks into my life needing a safe place to land.

For 6 years, I did it all on my own as a single mom — showing up every day for my kids with love, grit, and grace.
Then I spent nearly 18 years married, building a life, raising a family, giving everything I had to make it work.
And when that chapter came to a close, I wasn’t broken. I was becoming.

Becoming the woman I had tucked away.
Becoming the version of me who could heal others because she had walked through her own fire.

Through all the transitions, one thing never changed:
My love is deep. My care is real. And when I show up for someone — whether it’s my children or the people who trust me with their healing — I show up fully.

Restorative Massage & Skincare was born from that same love.
Not just a business… a sanctuary. A space where people come to feel seen, nurtured, and safe — the same way I’ve always wanted to make my children feel.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who yelled at ducks with pure joy in her heart — fearless, free, and full of light. That little girl was me.

But somewhere between 8 and 10 years old, something changed. I experienced trauma that hardened me. It dimmed my sparkle, made me quiet my voice, and taught me to survive instead of shine. I forgot how to laugh that loudly, how to feel that safe.

For years, I carried that weight. But I never gave up on myself — even when I forgot who I was.

Now, I’m a mother of three beautiful souls, and I’ve built a healing sanctuary through Restorative Massage & Skincare — not just to help others heal, but to remind myself every day that it’s possible to come home again.

To the light.
To the innocence.

People often see the outside and assume they know the whole story.
But truth is—I’ve carried deep pain, grown through shadows, and still choose to show up with an open heart.

Yes, I’m intuitive. Yes, I’m gifted.
But I’m also deeply human. I feel everything.
And sometimes it’s heavy carrying that much empathy.

What you might see is strength, but what you don’t always see is the soft soul behind it.
I wasn’t put here to be perfect. I was put here to help people feel safe in their own skin—because I’ve spent a lifetime learning how to feel safe in mine.

At Restorative Massage & Skincare, I know that you want to live your life feeling relaxed, empowered, and radiant. In order to do that, you need to make sure you are looking and feeling your best.
