Joining a social skills group can bring up a lot of questions, for kids and parents.
Our latest Dandelion blog, written by Madison Backer, group leader for our girls groups, walks families through what to expect when their child begins a social skills group at Dandelion Family Counseling... from finding the right fit, to those very normal first-week nerves, to how progress is tracked over time.
At Dandelion, our groups are thoughtfully designed to build confidence, foster connection, and support real-time problem-solving with peers, all with a therapist guiding every step. We offer multiple social skills groups for children ages 4–13, a therapist-led group for moms, and our Beyond Social Skills group for anxious kids. Most of our groups run year-round, so support can grow alongside your child and family.
If you’re curious about whether a group might be a good fit for your child (or yourself), this blog is a great place to start.
