Starting on May 4th, 2026, I will be in a new office located in Cotswold next to Publix. It’s hard to believe I’ve been at the Park Rd location for 18 years. Text neck? Is that a real thing?

Many people spend a lot of time looking down at their phones or electronic devices—even as you read this, you might be doing it too. I often catch myself in the same habit. The human head typically weighs between 10 and 12 pounds. Imagine holding an object that heavy with your arm stretched out in front of you; at first it's easy, but soon your shoulder would start to ache. That's similar to what your neck muscles are experiencing when you look down. Although it's not always simple, raising your phone to eye level can significantly ease that strain.

I have a client who is a runner & has had a history of shin splints. He mentioned he had some sensation & discomfort specifically in his big toe. Prior to our appointment, he used his massage gun all around his foot & still couldn’t get relief. During our treatment, he was surprised to see the same pain he had been feeling in his toe was being duplicated while I pressed an area just below the knee.

The tibialis anterior is a muscle on the front lower leg that lifts your foot toward your shin. Trigger point pain can radiate down to the big toe.

“I slept wrong and now my neck hurts.”

This is a muscle I commonly treat in my practice.

The levator scapulae connects the cervical vertebrae to the top of the scapula. It elevates the scapula and helps bend and extend the neck. Pain may be localized or may extend to regions near the attachment areas, and it can contribute to the occurrence of headaches.

Headaches are frequently associated with tension in the neck muscles; however, they can also result from tension in the jaw muscles. The masseter muscle may contribute not only to headaches but also to dental discomfort resembling that of a cavity, as well as ear pain.

In March of 2008, I signed a lease for my massage business. At that time I had only been a massage therapist for 4 years. I was scared to death but took a leap of faith and here I am 15 years later. It’s like a dream come true. Still to this day, everybody that I work with is a learning experience. Words can’t explain how thankful I am and will never take it for granted.
