BAYADA Direct Support Professional Lorrie was recently recognized as the Indiana County Health Care Careers Consortium 2025 Health Care Worker of the Year at the 20th Annual Health Care Worker Recognition Luncheon. She was honored for the exceptional support she provides to the BAYADA Habilitation, Blairsville, PA office.

Known for her compassionate, hands-on support, Lorrie helps her clients feel more connected to their communities. She takes the time to find meaningful activities tailored to each client’s interests, and she approaches her work with patience, calmness, and a strong focus on safety. At 18, Bob made a decision that shaped his life. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served from 1971 to 1975, including time in Alaska during the Vietnam era. He shares that the military was the first experience that truly made him proud and helped “straighten me out,” instilling values that still guide him today.

After returning home, Bob focused on family. One of his favorite memories is a road trip to Cape May to mark the start of basic training, complete with stuffed hot dogs along the way.

Through our Salute to Service Program, we recently honored Bob with a pinning ceremony recognizing his service and the pride he carries forward every day. 🎖️

We were honored to serve as judges at the UrbanPromise MLK Speech Contest, where students from first through twelfth grade shared powerful messages of courage, justice, and hope. ✨

During her first twelve weeks with BAYADA HICU®, Zaamira’s care team balanced her complex respiratory needs with big developmental goals—gradually transitioning her from full ventilator support to a heat and moisture exchanger (HME) during waking hours while coaching her mom through every new milestone.

Because her care path was tailored to her story, her needs, and her home, she celebrated her first birthday where she belongs—at home—stayed out of the hospital, and quickly moved into crawling, pulling to stand, and exploring the outdoors with her mom.

Rukiya leads our BAYADA Global Support Center Community Service team, which recently volunteered at Providence House to help set up a Galentine’s Pop-Up Store for their clients. The team sorted clothing and Valentine’s themed items, including tumblers, dish scrubbers, makeup, and more.

The Galentine’s Pop-Up Store celebrated friendship and honored female empowerment, helping survivors feel special and appreciated. One client shared, “I can actually look decent at my job. I always feel like I don’t look like I belong in an office setting.”

The team had a wonderful time collaborating with our friends at Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton and was grateful to make an impact on their clients. Thank you to our partners at Providence House for welcoming our team. Thank you to Rukiya, Moira, Cheryl, Marlena, Anna, and Brielle for showing up for the community and sharing so much love while embodying BAYADA’s commitment to serving others.

Rachel first began her journey with BAYADA in 2013. After stepping away for a time, she returned to our Charlotte Pediatric office in 2021—and we couldn't be more grateful!

During the COVID pandemic, Rachel served as one of our dedicated nurse extenders in the school setting, stepping up when our community needed her most. Since then, she has continued to provide compassionate, high-quality care in the homes of several pediatric clients and has taken on the important role of nurse designee.
