Benjamin was so loved by everyone who interacted with him. People were touched by his conversation skills, his smile, and the laughter he brought with him. His friends and family loved his singing as well!

In his free time, Benjamin enjoyed cheering on the Baltimore Ravens and attending concerts. He loved watching movies, like Sister Act, and really enjoyed listening to artists like Janet Jackson and Beyoncé.

Benjamin’s tissue and eyes were going to be donated, but sadly, couldn’t be transplanted. Because he said “yes” to donation, we’re proud to call Benjamin a “Donor in Spirit.”

Always having a window seat is cool, but getting to save lives for a living is even cooler 😉

Our organ preservation coordinators fly across the country to recover hearts for transplant and bring them back to save lives in Charlotte and Winston-Salem. They take chartered flights to keep the hearts safe and to stay on top of the tight timeline involved in this lifesaving work 💙💚

Willow left quite an impact in her 2 years of life. Her mother described her as a happy, beautiful little girl. Despite the pain she lived through, she was always smiling.

She loved the outdoors and spending time with her family. She enjoyed her spin toys, being upside down, and watching the Disney movie, "Encanto."

Willow saved 2 lives through the donation of her heart valves. If you want to nominate your loved one to be a Hero of the Week, visit LifeShareCarolinas.org/Tributes

💙 $150,000! 💙

We are proud to announce that the 9th annual HEARTest Yard + Showmars 5K presented by LifeShare Carolinas raised an incredible $150,000 in support of Levine Children's Hospital.

These funds directly impact children living with congenital heart diseases and disorders, helping provide critical care, hope, and healing.

Together, we’re running for hearts — and for futures. 🏃❤️

Tanya loved to draw and paint. She was a big reader and loved horses. Her daughter described her as feisty and said she was always trying to take on the next day. The two of them loved finding new places to eat and new things to try.

Tanya's pancreas was donated for important medical research. 2 people are now able to see because of her eye donation. Her tissue donation was able to impact the lives of several people.

Our donor care center comes with its own set of chores, just like your home! But we bet testing for bacteria isn't on your chore list 😏🧹

Our tissue recovery supervisor, Katie, is here to explain how we keep our recovery suites clean, so our organ, eye, and tissue recipients stay safe 💚💙

LifeShare is proud to have our own teammates with the skills and knowledge to perform this essential service. By bringing this testing in-house, we know that this important work is being done right and done well 😌🏥

Hard-working teammates like ours deserve to play with puppies every now and then! But, we didn't say anything about taking one home 🧐🐶

Earl was incredibly loved by his family. He worked as a transporter for Atrium Health, a job his wife says he loved. He also loved the people he worked with.

He loved music and spent time helping others develop their musical talents.

Earl saved 1 life through organ donation. His eyes gave 2 people the gift of sight and many lives were impacted by his tissue donation.

The organ donation process is beautiful and complex. It involves many people working together to make one person's selfless gift a reality.

Reviewing these steps can provide you with a better understanding of how the donation process works. You can find more information about each part of the process in our LifeShare Link Blog at www.LifeShareCarolinas.org/process-blog.

Is it a crime to want to celebrate the first day of summer with your teammates, even if you're one day early? If so, lock him up 🌞🕶️🍹

Cheers to saving lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation!
