For remote workers, “floor time” is a way of life and that's definitely the case for our operations team 😉

Our operations coordinators work 12-hour shifts, and they spend most of that time on the phone and working on multiple computer screens. They're responding to referrals from hospitals about potential organ, eye, and tissue donors. It's their responsibility to coordinate logistics to make sure all teams involved in the surgical recovery are in the right place at the right time. And they're also matching donated organs to grateful recipients on the waiting list.

It's a very important job, so we totally understand why they need a minute to just lie on the floor and rest before they get back to saving lives!

Cole had a passion for music and loved playing his guitar. He was able to play just about any instrument he picked up. After hearing a song on the radio, he could play it within an hour. He also loved Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and tattoos.

He was the oldest of 3 boys and was excited to be an uncle. His mom shared how sad she is that he never got the chance to meet his nephew. She will always remember his kind empathetic heart, and she finds comfort that his last gift of donation was true to who he was in life.

He saved 5 lives through organ donation. If you’d like us to highlight your donor hero, you can nominate them at LifeShareCarolinas.org/Donor-Families/Honoring-Donors/.

In her spare time, Gaby liked to stay active and play soccer, especially with her best friend. She was a fierce competitor. Gaby loved spending time outdoors and being with the people she loved.
