When 3-year-old Parker died, his family made the selfless decision to donate his organs. Because of that selfless act, Levi received a new heart. Last year, Parker's family got to meet Levi and hear Parker's heartbeat again 💚🫀💙

Jamey loved cats and had several of them over the years, including one named “Sing” for his constant meowing. His mom told us Jamey was well-liked and people always commented how polite and considerate he was. Jamey loved music and worked at a record store, where he was one of the top sellers.

In his spare time, Jamey loved attending concerts, being with his family, and going for walks at the mall and outside on trails. He also enjoyed playing backgammon with his dad on Sundays.

Kris was a lover of animals and had dreams of turning his small farm into something amazing! Kayla, his wife, shared that Kris was always there no matter what he was going through.

In his spare time, Kris loved to support his children at their games and even help coach their teams from time to time. He also loved antiques and had a large collection.

At LifeShare, we honor the legacy of our organ, eye, and tissue donors by hanging special ornaments on our Christmas tree. Each ornament was created by donor families, in memory of their loved one. This tree serves as an important reminder to our team about the heroic donors and the lives they saved 💙🎄💚

David loved to cook in his outdoor kitchen for his family and friends. His wife, Janice, told us he was a wonderful dad, uncle, son, and brother. He and Janice were married for 40 years.

Etta was known for her legendary hugs. Her husband said those hugs made you feel all the love and warmth she had to offer. He said Etta would light up the room as soon as she walked in because of her smile and laughter.

She loved her dog, Sam, and cat, Sophie very much. In her spare time, she also tended to her beautiful roses. Her husband said the number one way she spent her time was trying to find the best way to help others.

Everyone gather around, we have an announcement! Meet Mel, the 2025 recipient of our Heart of LifeShare award.

Mel is tough and a bit feisty, but so loveable. She's known for purposefully intimidating new teammates on their first day but also for being one of the most deeply compassionate teammates at LifeShare.

She works humbly in our eye bank, honoring the wishes of donors and providing the gift of sight to cornea recipients no matter what. Her leader described it best, "She doesn't do it any of it for praise. She does it because it matters."

We're proud to highlight Mel as a recipient for this award, created in honor of our late teammate, Whitney Hoppes. The Heart of LifeShare honors a dedicated teammate who exceeds expectations of their role, is passionate about our mission of saving lives, and carries themselves with the positive attitude that Whitney was known for.
