20 pictures isn’t enough to cover the fun I’ve had around my Charlotte bubble lately. ❤️

Something I think I do really well is fit in the memory-making-off-routine-good-stuff that falls outside of my work, early bedtimes and teaching schedule. And that’s something I hope to keep on doing for many years!

Recent highlights include a country concert at , a fabulous self-care service at , a long friends dinner at , a lively Kentucky Derby party hosted by , an amazing pool-party extravaganza hosted by , a winning game, all the classes at .charlottenc as well as a weekly workout with my buddy and lots of time with my number-one sweet bestie Brady and more!

Here’s to making memories and continuing to veer off routine.

But I do love a good pre-class shake out!

I’ve actually never been a fan of horror movies - especially with the above topics. I’d love to know ... what’s something on your horror-movie list?

Motherhood … I’ve always been the most independent human who does her own thing, so I’m as shocked as anybody that being with and being needed by my boys is completely my favorite thing in life, hands down. 💕

I had the best of days with the best of people today. I felt showered with love by Dave, Brady (and Roo) and my own amazing mom, as we celebrated Mother’s Day together (shout out to the delicious brunch, BTW).

Here’s the thing: We don’t have perfect lives, but we have each other, and that’s literally all we need. As life throws us little curveballs here and there, we always come back to each other and what matters most. And that’s something I hope and know we’ll always do.

I had a rough journey to get to motherhood, and I’m eternally grateful for what I have today. I’m sending all the love to the mommas, future mommas and anyone else holding out for something — keep the faith, friend.

Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours!

Today, I was honored to volunteer my time to support the Watch Love Grow A Mother’s Love project, where we made gift baskets to be delivered tomorrow to 700 women across Charlotte who have lost babies and children.

While a woman who loses a husband is a widow, and a child who loses a parent is an orphan, there is no name for a mother who loses one of her own — Mother’s Day is especially hard for those mothers, and I get it. Loss has touched my life profoundly in the last several years — as I had 3 miscarriages, 3 years in a row, all after Brady was born. While my losses are small compared to many, I carry “what could have been” with me everyday, and there’s always a mixture of grief and joy.

Thank you to for introducing me to the organization and inviting me to volunteer today.

Together, we shed tears and stories, and we helped create a little bit of joy for mothers who really need it this weekend during Mother’s Day. 💕

I’ve worked in social media in some capacity for many, many years, so I do care about it and use it regularly. But in my personal life, I try not to spend too much time on here.

As a reminder: We have to approach every single social media session with a mindset knowing that what we see is not always as amazing as it seems. Living the real imperfect life in front of you is the real “goals,” not the aesthetic perfection you might be scrolling through and wishing was yours. Fill your feed with good stuff that makes you happy, and if it doesn’t, there’s always the unfollow.

Have a wonderful evening, friend!

5 years at Life Time Charlotte! Yesterday, marked my official hire date at Life Time, and what a 5 years it has been. When we moved to North Carolina a little over 5 years ago, I knew this is where I wanted to work, but I had no idea what it would turn into over time.

These days, I teach 9 to 10 classes a week, covering 4 freestyle formats, and I also do social media work for the club. I love coming to work, I love thinking about work, and I love all the work that I do — which is something people in my life constantly remind me is one of my biggest blessings, and I know it. A fancy corporate job with a big title? Maybe that’s what I thought the future held for me, but there’s just no way I’d have the job satisfaction I have now, while wearing sneakers, leggings and a mic pack.

Sometimes people ask me how I teach so many classes, create so many routines and seem so comfortable on stage.
It’s these two:
#1 - A true passion for group fitness and helping people move to music.
#2 - Preparation and practice.

The time I spend outside of Life Time creating my routines from scratch, practicing them and getting them ready is probably equal to the time I spend in the club. So what looks effortless actually requires a lot of effort. And hey, I’ve always treated teaching group fitness like a real job, and never treated it like a silly side hobby — even when it was only a silly side hobby.

To anyone who has come to one of my classes over the last 5 years at Life Time Charlotte, I am so appreciative of you. And I hope you keep coming back and growing with me, as we keep at this group fitness thing for many, many more years together.

Remember what I always say to my in-person members — how lucky are we to move our healthy bodies in this beautiful space like this? And also, here come the pulses.

Ocean breeze in the hair and all smiles after a girls weekend in Hilton Head with three friends who I’ve known for more than 20 years.

It’s not easy to get away as a group of moms who have busy jobs, kids in sports and full lives in totally different cities, but boy is it worth it.

This past weekend chilling, chatting, relaxing, catching up and soaking up time in the sun with some of my longest and dearest friends was literally just what I needed.

This year, we selected Hilton Head Sea Pines, and it was a laid-back affair, outside of that one time we had to sprint for our lives away from a large alligator on our walking path. I came back a little tired, but full of good times with some really great people.

Thanks to Yolanda, Judy and Shannon — friends since college and high school — still going strong! Where should we go next year?
