The curious chap is Tupac, a 7 1/2 year old French Bulldog that is currently recovering from spinal surgery. Tupac had multiple episodes of back pain over the past few years. When he wasn’t recovering from the most recent one, his family decided to have his scanned with MRI. This revealed multiple bulging discs, the worst of which was in his lumbar spine. Tupac had spinal surgery a few weeks ago and is doing well. Given that he still has other problematic discs, his family decided to add in acupuncture to both aid in post op healing and hopefully prevent his other discs from causing problems in future.

Laser therapy and western meds were initiated. His family elected to continue laser therapy in the comfort of home. Here’s hoping King Arthur is back to managing his kingdom in no time

This funny faced friend is Gracie, a 10 year wire haired pointing griffon. Gracie has long history of pulmonic stenosis, likely a congenital vascular issue she developed during development. While this issue is currently under control with medications and regular visits to cardiologist, Gracie has been struggling more with back end weakness. Exam revealed no particularly sore spots, though she was a bit stiff in her hips. Hoping acupuncture and strengthening exercises can keep this active girl feeling strong for many years to come

Remember Scout, our paralyzed spicy chi mix? 3 weeks in and he’s doing great, even taking a few unassisted (if wobbly) steps! This shows signs of slow and steady neurologic healing. So happy to see him improve 🥰

Both dogs are taking a variety of western meds for their medical issues but mom is open to trying alternative adjunct therapies to offer more relief

This sweet pupperoni is Maya, an 11 1/2 year old German Shepherd. Poor Maya had an infiltative lion removed twice from her back left leg several years ago. She then had radiation therapy to hopefully prevent mass from returning. Ever since, Maya has had swelling and edema in this leg. Surgeons think the edema is from blockage of lymphatics from all the scar tissue. Maya had been getting around ok but now has weakness in her back legs. Her family is hoping acupuncture and herbal remedies might help as there’s not much left on western front to be done for the edema

This sad eyed soul is Hunter, a 15 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. He went on a big adventure 2 weekends ago that involved a lot of walking and car rides. By the following Monday, Hunter could barely walk and didn’t want to eat. He was seen by his vet and given meds for pain and inflammation in his hips and spine. Hunter has recovered some but his family wanted to add in a few other modalities to help him heal faster and hopefully gain back his appetite and stamina
