We had an amazing time celebrating the end of the year with our friends in the Greater Enrichment Program ! Our reading buddies wrapped up the year with a fun-filled celebration, complete with certificates recognizing their hard work, plenty of delicious treats, and a lively dance party to burn off all that wonderful energy!😊🩷

Check out this photo of Southminster resident Chuck Vogt being congratulated by the Fitness Director at the 42nd Annual Strength and Fitness Championships at The Olympic Club in San Francisco!🏅🏆

Competing in the 80 to 90 age group, Chuck set records across multiple events, including 15 pull ups, 60 push ups, 25 bar dips, 15 reps on the 35 lb dumbbell press, 13 reps on the 60 lb bicep curl, a 5.9 second shuttle run, AND a 12.5 inch vertical leap!

Chuck credits Gay and Zach at Southminster's Embrace Wellness Center for their guidance and encouragement to keep training strong!💪

Southminster was recently featured in The Charlotte Ledger for a moving story about resident Andy Salisbury, titled “At his son’s wedding, in heart and soul.”

Though he couldn’t travel the 160 miles to Georgia, Andy was still part of the celebration. With support from the Southminster team, he joined his son’s wedding via livestream—sharing in every meaningful moment in real time.

It’s a powerful reminder of how compassionate care and technology can keep our residents connected to life’s most important milestones.
