When people hear “postpartum mental health,” they often think of one thing: depression.

But the truth? It’s much broader.

Reproductive mental health is a wide umbrella that includes the emotional, relational, and psychological experiences connected to trying to conceive, pregnancy, loss, birth, and the first year postpartum.

And Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) don’t stop at depression. They can include anxiety, OCD, PTSD, panic disorder, bipolar disorders, and even postpartum psychosis during pregnancy and throughout the first year after birth.

These experiences are more common than most people realize.
They are real.
They are diagnosable.
And most importantly — they are treatable.

You are not “bad at this.” You are not broken. You are not alone.

Save this for reference, or share it with someone who might need language for what they’re feeling. 🧡

This space was designed with one thing in mind: safety.

When you're experiencing reproductive trauma or grief, the last thing you need to experience is a space that is impatient, judgmental, or dismissive. You deserve providers that are intentional with you and your story. Providers that go out of their way to make sure you feel understood. Providers that utilize evidence-based interventions to help you feel better.

My hope is that clients experience my office that way. Like a breath of fresh air, where you don't have to explain yourself or hope that your therapist "gets it."

If you’re looking for specialized support, you’re not alone. I'd love to be of help if I can - please feel free to reach out.

It’s a bittersweet day today! 🥲

I said goodbye to my wonderful colleagues at and settled into my new office in Elizabeth where I’ll see my first clients this evening.

Feeling extra tender about this transition - it’s a big leap, but I could not be more excited to continue to serve clients navigating all kinds of reproductive experiences. My hope is that my little office is a safe place where clients are seen and understood.

Thanks for being part of this journey with me! 🫶🏻

Hi! I’m Ginny! 🙋🏻‍♀️
🛋️ I’m a therapist in the Charlotte, NC area and I see couples and individuals.
🧠 I work with clients navigating infertility, grief, loss, perinatal mental health, & postpartum mood disorders.
💫 I love accessing humor, gentleness, kindness, and advocacy in my work with clients. My goal is always to make sure you feel safe and empowered in your healing.
🐈‍⬛🐈 When I’m not working with clients, I’m trying to convince my cats, Frasier and Niles, to be therapy cats at my office. They’ve told me that this conflicts with their busy schedule of spying on the neighbors.
💕 My hope is to create a warm, welcoming space on this little space in the interwebs for you and maybe chat a little bit about therapy. I’m glad you’re here!

You don’t need perfect words to comfort someone experiencing reproductive loss - just presence.

Your gentleness, your willingness to listen, your courage to show up again and again - these are the quiet acts that make grief more bearable.

This Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, let’s remember that love doesn’t end when life does. It continues in the ways we show up for one another.

🧡 To those who grieve: you are not alone.

Grief doesn’t end—it changes shape.

It moves forward alongside life, sometimes heavy, sometimes quiet, always carrying love and memory.

This October, in honor of Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, we hold space for every shape of grief.

If you or someone you love is navigating loss, therapy can offer a safe place to feel, remember, and begin to heal.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, which makes it the right time to share some honest reviews of books on reproductive loss. 📚

Some were deeply grounding, others left me ambivalent, and a few had me ranting (in the best way). Whether you’re supporting clients, walking through grief yourself, or simply wanting to better understand, I hope this round-up helps you find resources that truly resonate.

Deciding when to announce a pregnancy can feel complicated—especially after experiencing loss. There’s no magic week that guarantees safety, no “perfect” time to share. What matters most is what feels right for you. 🧡

In my newest essay on That’s Our Time, I explore why this decision is so tender, the myths around “safe timing,” and some reflective questions to help you discern what you need in this season.
