Colder months often bring more than just cozy sweaters and hot cocoa — they also bring a rise in common childhood illnesses. ❄️👧🧒

Some of the most frequent ones include:
🤧 Colds & flu that spread easily in schools and play areas
🫁 Respiratory infections like RSV and pneumonia, which need close monitoring
👂 Ear infections, often following colds
😷 Strep throat and tonsillitis that require medical care
🌬 Asthma flare-ups triggered by seasonal changes

Prevention starts with simple habits: frequent handwashing, vaccinations (like the flu shot), and regular pediatric checkups. And if your child develops severe symptoms, don’t wait, seek care.

On October 2nd, we welcomed more than 320 guests to The Revelry North End for our 7th Annual Women’s Health & Doctor Recognition Luncheon, celebrating 45 years of serving our community.

We had the honor of recognizing nine remarkable community leaders, from advocates in healthcare and education to champions of faith and equity, whose work continues to inspire and uplift Charlotte.

Special thanks to Congresswoman Rep. Alma Adams for sharing a heartfelt proclamation in honor of our milestone, and to Pam Diggs, MPH, from Bluecross Blueshield Of Nc, for an inspiring keynote reminding us all why health equity matters and also our amazing MC/Host. 💙💙

As we reflect on 45 years of impact, we remain committed to our mission of providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare for everyone, regardless of income or circumstance.

Thank you to every guest, partner, and supporter who made this celebration possible. 💙

Good health doesn’t just happen it’s built through consistent choices. 💪✨

Here are three powerful prevention tips to protect your heart and overall well-being:
🍎 Eat well — add more fruits, veggies, and whole foods while cutting down on excess salt and sugar.
🏃 Stay active — just 30 minutes of movement daily can make a huge difference.
❤️ Manage your blood pressure — check it regularly, take your meds, and practice stress-reducing habits.

Prevention is always better than treatment. Start where you are, take small steps, and protect your future self.

This week, we celebrate Medical Assistants Recognition Week (MARWeek), a time dedicated to honoring the professionals who serve as the heartbeat of healthcare. 💚

Medical Assistants are the steady hands and kind voices that keep healthcare moving forward. Their ability to balance clinical precision with empathy reminds us daily that care goes beyond treatment, it’s about connection, trust, and dedication.

This week, and always, we say thank you to our Medical Assistants and those across our community for your commitment, compassion, and professionalism. You truly make a difference in every life you touch. 💚
