When we tell ourselves that we don’t understand, that we can’t do it, that it doesn’t work, we don’t give ourselves the chance to grow. We expect results right here, right now, and we forget that things take time. Only rarely do we pick things up perfectly on the first try!

What are some things that you can do now that you used to struggle with? Riding a bike? Solving multiplication problems? Being a parent? Learning a new skill for a job? Let us know your own ideas in the comments!

This is your reminder to pay attention to how you’re talking to yourself! Would you say the things you tell yourself to a friend, pet, or family member? What about to a stranger?

The words you say to yourself become the house you live in. Make it a nice one!

When we find ourselves stuck in the past and questioning decisions we made, it’s important to remember this: just because things could have been different, doesn’t mean they would be better. You do the best you can with what you have and with what you know!

We hope you’re having a great Tuesday.

Our Mission

Our mission challenges us to think about how to get psychology to people in a variety of ways, including: traditional therapy and assessment, presentations, products and publications, podcasts, and other innovative strategies. For us, psychology isn't just for someone with a problem. It's for anyone who wants to have a better life- better relationships, more balance, greater purpose. When we say that psychology enhances lives, we affirm that we believe in what we do and what we have to offer. With locations in Ballantyne and Southpark in Charlotte, NC we strive to put psychology into the hands of as many people as possible in the Charlotte area. Our tagline is, "Psychology for All." And we mean it! There are four core values that guide our decisions and shape our culture at Southeast Psych. They make up the acronym FIRE:

  • FUN - we value fun, spontaneity, humor, and enjoyment of life

  • INNOVATION - we value innovation, invention, creativity, and change

  • RELATIONSHIPS - we value healthy, honest, and authentic relationships
