Determined to do well…
“I had total knee replacement surgery on my right knee January 18th,2024. I was 52 years old at the time, and had needed the procedure for 20 years stemming from extensive damage I had done to it playing sports in my youth. I had always been apprehensive on going through with the surgery due to the combination of my relative youth, and still active lifestyle. I am constantly on my feet with my job as a rural carrier for the post office, and I officiate football, and baseball as well. I didn’t want to have to give up any of these things. My pain was starting to affect everyday life to a point where something had to be done. When I finally decided to go through with the surgery, there was no other surgeon that I would ever go to other than Dr. Swanson. She calmed my fears, and took the time to answer all my questions in detail in my first consultation with her. She replaced my mother’s knee several years ago with no complications and I was amazed by her skill, and care for her patients.
The surgery was an huge success, and the recovery went better than I could have ever expected. I went back to work with no limitations on March 11th…8 weeks later. I was able to go back to baseball umpiring a week after that, and finished my first football season last fall with a new knee free of any pain!
Dr Swanson has given me a new lease on life being able to do the activities I love again without pain and mobility issues. I thank her, as well as the whole Thunder Orthopedics team for the care they showed me from my first pre-op appointment all the way through my latest follow up.
