Multitools. On your Battlebelt.

Pick up a multitool of you don't already have one. Quality ones from Ge**er or Leatherman will run you around $60 for a small, baseline model. They're tried and true, and well worth the money.

Carry your multitool where it's accessible at all times. Stored on the battlebelt, it doesnt matter if I'm wearing armor or not, I have the tool with me. I've solved way more daily problems with a good multitool than I have with tacti-shooter gear. Carry stuff that makes sense. Those of us that lived in armor for months at a time will tell you that you end up carrying lots of small, useful items that don't have to do with shooting people, just to make your life easier.

Battlebelt setup. Like a$$holes, everyone's got an opinion on how to setup a battlebelt. My opinion, set it up how it makes sense for YOUR mission and environment, and make sure you don't obstruct life-saving things like your pistol or medical gear bc you're carrying too much $hit.

(SOUND ON)Pharmacy and Booboo Kit.
For your adventure day-pack or vehicle, to treat some common injuries and ailments.

Many in the survival community, particularly military folks, tend to focus on traumatic injuries so they carry an IFAK with tourniquets and pressure dressings-to deal with massive injuries. What they (and I) tend to forget is that small injuries like cuts amd scrapes happen WAY more frequently than Gunshot wounds and amputations, so bring things with you to treat the common stuff!

Maintenance on my "Blink" home security cameras.
Lithium AA batteries last me around 4 months on the cameras that are running in high-traffic areas. 6 months or more on the cameras that don't run as often.

Place cameras so that you can observe areas where an intruder could enter. Have a plan for that happening. Example-you hear someone break in, get to your defensive firearm and check your cameras to see where and how many people have entered. The Blink cameras have a microphone so you can tell them that youre armed and that you've called the police. Theyll very likely leave. Set cameras so they can see your other cameras-so no one can tamper with your cameras without being seen. Once placed, verify the field of view and adjust as needed.
Good news is if there's a break-in while you're not home, at least you'll have video evidence to show an insurance company and maybe the faces of the perps to show Law Enforcement. Even if they take the cameras, the footage will be saved on your account.

Your home is your castle. Take action to ensure that your home is secure-simple things like locking doors (most home invaders come through unlocked doors), keeping exterior lights on at night, and installing things like cameras and alarms when your budget allows. You need to make your place a "less attractive" target for an opportunist criminal. Dogs and guns help too. Just sayin.

Maintenance Day.
Because you shouldn't wait for something to happen where you NEED your gas powered emergency tools, to find out after that first pull of the ripcord-that they won't start or work properly.

Chainsaw: Just an all around workhorse cutting tool. If you live somewhere where the weather can be violent, have your saw ready to cut up those fallen trees that may be blocking your escape route or the route for emergency vehicles to respond to your area. With that, make sure your chain is sharp and adjusted properly.
-Remove bar and chain cover and remove old chain (note-if your saw is working very hard and/or producing fine powdery wood shavings instead of larger chunk woodchips, time to sharpen, adjust, or replace the chain-the "Oregon" chain I installed is less than $20)
-Install new chain correctly-cutting edge facing away from the saw when on top of the bar, and facing towards the saw when riding along the bottom of the bar
-Replace chain and reinstall bar cover, the chain will still be slightly loose
-Turn the tensioner (tiny silver notch) until the chain is snug

Generator-start them and run them periodically. Add fuel stabilizer to your fuel and suggest turning off fuel to run the carburetor dry for long term storage. My generator started on the 3rd pull after sitting for 3 months.

Take care of your emergency equipment and it will take care of you in a time of need.

"You knew criminals were dangerous and you still disarmed the people"-Mrs Kintner-mother of a victimized son, Amity (probably).

"August? Heh, for Christ's sake tomorrow is the fourth of July! And we will be open for business. It's gonna be one of the best summer we ever had! Now if you fellas are concerned about the beaches, you do whatever you have to , to make them safe. But those beaches will be open for this weekend!" Vaughn-Amity's Mayor, Jaws.

That's right everyone, do what YOU have to to keep YOU AND YOURS safe.

Don't be lulled into a false sense of "security" by those who will sacrifice your safety for money and votes. Buy tools to protect yourselves and carry your fi****ms. Train to protect yourselves. No authority will place someone else MORE responsible for your safety than YOU.

Flashlights-For everyday carry along with your pistol so you can Positively Identify that threat in the dark. (Full video on Youtube)

We own every shot we take and will have to prove we were in the right after defending ourselves and shooting someone. Carry a flashlight and positively ID the threat before shooting into the dark. agrees.
