Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths after cigarette smoking. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that radon causes about 21,000 lung cancer deaths in the U.S. every year.

Radon is a natural gas in outdoor air that can build up inside your home. This Radon Awareness Month, take action to reduce radon levels and talk to your doctor about any concerns. To learn more about radon, check out the CDC's radon webpage: https://bit.ly/2S9itPT.

Did you know? Virginia residents can purchase discounted radon test kits directly from VDH for only $4 per test kit! Limit of 2 kits per address. Visit https://www.vdhradon.org/ to order yours today.

BOIL WATER ADVISORY UPDATE 12/24/25 12:30 P.M.: The RWSA and ACSA have been working throughout the morning to restore normal water pressure following a break along Route 29 North. Pressures have started to return to normal, but customers may experience slightly lower pressure and discolored water from the service disruption. Repairs to the break are underway and will continue into the evening hours. The Boil Water Advisory (BWA) will remain in effect until we have been able to collect two rounds of water samples. The first of two rounds of water samples will be collected this evening. At this time, the earliest the BWA can be lifted is Friday afternoon after consultation with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). More information to come as we work through the testing process. Continue to follow us for updates.
