**UPDATE MONDAY 3/16/2020 - THE OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED FOR 2 WEEKS

To my patients - These are strange times indeed.

I hope you are all following the recommended precautions:
1. Frequent Hand Washing.
2. Avoid Social Gatherings.
3. Limit travel and activities out of the home to only the necessities
(go to the store at off-peak times and try to stay 6 ft away from others.
If they are coughing, stay further away, and don’t buy anything they were near).

4. If you have a fever, please stay home!
(do not go to the ER unless you are seriously ill and need to be admitted to the hospital)

The plan as it stands now is to reassess our situation next weekend, and make further decisions about prolonged closure at that time.

If you have not already been contacted to reschedule your appointment, don't worry - we will be calling you.

When we do reopen, we will be reducing the number of patient visits (which is already low), to allow for increased cleaning of ALL surfaces between patients.

In the meantime, I am at a bit of a loss on how to continue to serve you, my patients. That being said, please feel free to reach out by email (drrachelhallmark@gmail.com) if there is anything I can help you with.

You can also email (officemanagerbrwb@gmail.com) or call (434-205-4477) to speak to Jessica about scheduling issues - and as always please call for any urgent issues (she can put you in touch with me if needed).

In the meantime - if you’re looking for something to do, rather than read more scary media articles, see my blog post about my thoughts on some potential good effects of this whole “social isolation” situation.

Be well! And wash your hands!

To my patients -
These are strange times indeed.

I hope you are all following the recommended precautions:

2. Avoid Social Gatherings.
3. Limit travel and activities out of the home to only the necessities.
(Go to the store at off-peak times and try to stay 6 ft away from others. If they are coughing, stay further away, and don’t buy anything they were near).
4. If you have a fever, please stay home!
(do not go to the ER unless you are seriously ill and need to be admitted to the hospital)

In terms of my practice, at this time we will not be officially closing. However, we must acknowledge that we are all accepting at least some low level of risk by associating with other people in any form right now. I do think the risk is low, but it is difficult to estimate.

Factors in our favor: The volume of patients in my office is already low, and I will restrict this further to help us to maintain even greater cleanliness between patients. I have no known exposures, and my family is now staying home, so they will not expose me to anything.

However - if a patient has already exposed me and I am not yet aware, that is a possibility that you could be exposed. Same for you - if you have been exposed and are not yet aware, there is some possibility you could then infect me.

That being said - if you choose to reschedule your appointment, that is absolutely fine.
Please do email (officemanagerbrwb@gmail.com) and/or call (434-205-4477) to let us know your plans though (we hate wondering what’s going on!).

In the meantime - if you’re looking for something to do, rather than read more scary media articles, see my blog post (https://www.blueridgewellbeing.com/post/coronavirus-a-possible-silver-lining) about my thoughts on some potential good effects of this whole “social isolation” situation.

By now, we are all saturated with hearing about Coronavirus. I promise this blog won’t be more of the same. I'm not here to predict "how bad" this is going to get, or tell you something you haven't already read in 3 other places but still can't tell how true it is. This virus is scary, it is real,...
