Thanks to those who reached out to check on us, after shootings occurred across the street from our clinic Monday afternoon.

Our rural Crozet community.continues to be in shock following the tragic loss of life. There will be a Community Prayer Vigil for Health and Peace this evening from 7-8 pm, hosted at Crozet Baptist Church.

Apparently things could have been even worse. It was only 20 sec before an off duty, highly trained federal agent happened to be coming out of the market. And kept us from reaching the national news.

This doesn’t lessen the fact that we lost a father of 2 girls, who was expected to return home and a retired NICU nurse, who was sitting in her car. The shooter was a local young man whose family had pleaded to authorities to have fi****ms taken from him within the past year, due to mental health issues. There are so many victims from all of this, with families and friends who are suffering.

I’ve heard many stories of those who were almost there at the same time, or concerns over returning to that market or shops there.

You can read details here:

Once again, gun violence and inadequate regulations crushed more lives- those who are gone and those who are grieving.

Happy Thanksgiving! We are counting our blessings and all that we are thankful for.

Let's all look for ways we can connect with others to come together at this time.

Please reach out with gentle kindness and help those with various needs. Who do you know that may be alone? Or if it is you, do you need support?

When caring for others, don't forget to include yourself. Create some time to be quiet in your reflections throughout this holiday season, to recharge your energy and spirit.

Pat & Laura had a great eve chatting about pelvic health/women's health Wed eve- wonderful to do in person before transitioning to the end of year bustle. What a wonderful mix of women spanning generations for terrific questions and comments. Thanks to Flannery and Chelsea with Bluebird & Co for hosting us!

It reminded Pat of decades ago, when gathering with groups of clients' friends like Tupperware parties. Truly- even had givaways with yoga straps for variety of ex at home.

Incredible that the questions and myths haven't changed much from 35 yrs ago- "Is it normal to" "Is this all about age" "Why didn't my doctor tell me about" "How do I know if doing ex right". And more.

And one commented about being glad to work on awareness before the holidays hit- so important!

It will be wonderful to send along educ and practice videos to those who attended, as we packed in tons of tips training.

A repeat with an online live zoom group will be coming up in early Dec. Hope you'll keep watch for announcements!

I'm blown away with the wealth of updated information and guidelines surrounding menopause years and beyond! What a weekend his has been, wih incredible leaders from across professions. Not just aspects of pelvic health, but full scope of impact on women's general health issues. There are many discussions to have as time goes by. Most important take away is the reduction/removal of fears about topical estrogen use, plus far-reaching healh benefits for extended use.

I'm so thankful for the numbers of "younger" pelvic healh professionals, who have moved into menopause years. They are driving incredible research and awareness! What a huge change from my experiences 2-3 decades ago, when I had to learn a few tips about hot flashes from treating clients going through breast cancer rehab.

Laura and I will be looking at ways to share vital information. And that includes our upcoming in-person workshop this Wed eve!

Check out my photo! I attend Pelvic Global Virtual Conference!

Did you know the vast majority of people die from cardiac arrest, in spite of available training? There are many factors, but a lot of times there simply isn't someone to help soon enough.

Interesting fact Pat heard on a podcast- Highest survival rate outside of hospitals are CASINOs! This is related to high number of staff trained.

Community-wide training is essentual. Think about this as you plan to gather with friends and families for the holidays.

And how about the isolation which has occured from weather disasters, which has been happening far too often. This is one of the few times we will try to sound out the alarm.

And we aren't only talking about seniors.

Lets work on the many ways to be prepared.

Please email us info@passagespt.com to see if any slots left for this week.
Cost
$55 for CPR
$85 CPR + First Aide
Changes have made it easier: No pre-reading required & no written test.

Can't make it or want to have someone with great experience and reasonable rates come to your business or group of friends?

Feel free to reach out to Joe!

Come on over this Sat 10/28 10-2. This amazing fitness studio, on the western edge of Cville, is back & below of the Foods of All Nations shopping complex. I've been getting to know the amazing team there and love what they do. I even did a personal session and appreciated the inspiring thoroughness. I'm glad to be a part of this festive celebration!

We are excited to have pelvic health physical therapist Pat Salin Huston at our Open House this Saturday from 10am-2pm!
