JABA Respite & Enrichment Centers (REC) in Charlottesville and Louisa provide a safe, caring, and active environment for loved ones, and a welcome respite for caregivers. JABA’s Respite & Enrichment Centers (REC) located in Charlottesville and Louisa County provide a full day of fun, caring staff, intergenerational activities and outings. While most of our members are older adults (including individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia), we welcome adults age 18+ with disabilities. That’s a "wrap" on an incredible season! 🎁
We’re feeling very "elated" (and maybe a little "elf-ish" for wanting to do it all over again!) after such a beautiful final day.

We are "sleigh-ghing" with gratitude for:

What a week at JREC! ✨ Our hearts (and our socks!) are full after a week of pure joy and community spirit.

A huge round of applause for our incredible JREC staff! 👏👏 From the logistics to the decorations, our team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organize these amazing events and make sure every detail was perfect. We couldn’t have done it without your dedication!

The week was packed with highlights:

Special Guest: A visit from our favorite "elf," Stephanie (Community Programs and Advocacy Director)! 🧑‍🎄

Live Music: Fantastic performances from Charlottesville High School Orchestra and The Front Porch. 🎶

Paws-itive Vibes: A sweet pet therapy visit with Mike and Pike. 🐾

Wellness: Heartfelt wellness bags put together by our Community Engagement Team. 🛍️

Cozy Vibes: Our JREC Sock Exchange, made possible by our wonderful care partners! 🧦

The JABA Louisa Respite and Enrichment Center and JABA Louisa Community Center had a wonderfully, holiday fun-fun filled, Christmassy TREElightful time at the Annual Christmas Luncheon sponsored by Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism in coordination with the Louisa Commission on Aging and the Board of Supervisors. The participants for both programs enjoyed a delicious meal, merriment, live music and camaraderie with each other and community members! More holiday fun to come next week! ⛄❄️🎁✨🎄🔔☃

Spreading Holiday Joy (and Green Thumbs!)

Our celebration of National Poinsettia Day was a spectacular success, thanks entirely to the wonderful Master Gardeners!

We extend our sincerest gratitude for them taking the time to share their deep knowledge, covering everything from the Poinsettia's captivating history to making sure they thrive all season long.

The most heartwarming part? Thanks to these amazing volunteers, every member left with a gorgeous Poinsettia of their own. It’s a beautiful reminder of the power of community and volunteering. Thank you for making this holiday season a little brighter for all of us!
