JABA Respite & Enrichment Centers (REC) in Charlottesville and Louisa provide a safe, caring, and active environment for loved ones, and a welcome respite for caregivers. JABA’s Respite & Enrichment Centers (REC) located in Charlottesville and Louisa County provide a full day of fun, caring staff, intergenerational activities and outings. While most of our members are older adults (including indiv

iduals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia), we welcome adults age 18+ with disabilities. Call the Center nearest to you directly to schedule a visit and discuss payment options:

This is a critical time for older adults. We need your help raising funds through Peer-to-Peer (https://www.jabacares.org/give-to-jaba) to ensure we are equipped to meet the surging needs:

- By 2030, one out of four people in Central Virginia will be over 60 years old.
- Government and private funding are not keeping pace with needs.
- In Central Virginia, 24% of seniors live alone and 6% are in poverty (under $15,650
annually).
- 8,657 adults have a cognitive difficulty, and 26,580 have a physical disability.

The JABA Louisa CC and JREC participants have the perfect prescription for you if your day is less than stellar. The orders are the following: Grab a pool noodle, fun balloons and put disco music on! You should feel SO much better in a matter of minutes! Heart rates were up, laughter was heard, and dancing occurred!

The Louisa JREC wrapped up last week with a vibrant and joy-filled Summer Cookout! ☀️🍔🌭
This colorful event was full of delicious food, and great company as families of our participants came together to enjoy the afternoon, meet our new manager Tiffany Wyatt, and connect with one another.

A big thank you to Emma Cajigas, JABA Louisa CC Manager, for helping serve up tasty treats—and to our fantastic partners at the Betty J. Queen Center for joining in the fun. Special thanks to Mr. Smith from Louisa Parks & Rec for all your support!
