Fat Tuesday. The day before Ash Wednesday. The day before Lent begins…and the last chance to feast and celebrate before the 40-day season of fasting and reflection. We had so much fun celebrating together this afternoon. Fat Tuesday, AKA Shrove Tuesday, Shrovetide, or Mardi Gras, is a joyful conclusion to Ordinary Time and a joyful preparation for one of the most important Catholic seasons: Lent.

Life Enrichment Leader, Emma, lead some happy residents on a special DIY bird feeder project. Very helpful for the birds and squirrels around OLOP while the snow and ice is still covering the grass. They spread peanut butter on the cardboard paper rolls and rolled them in birdseed and raisins, tied with string and they were ready to be hung from tree branches outside.

It started snowing just as our pre Super Bowl football tailgate party began. OLOP staff and residents look forward to this party every year. Life Enrichment does a great job planning and our kitchen makes a huge tailgate spread of various wings, corn fritters, mac n cheese bites, corn dogs, boneless wings and chips and salsa. At the very end, we brought Oscar up for a few bites of boneless chicken.
