My passion is to help others achieve their health and fitness goals through a healthy lifestyle change that can be maintained long-term. I'm not into quick fixes, just getting the results as efficiently as possible in a way that someone can maintain and stick to for a lifetime, not just a few weeks. I am a Beachbody coach and love the products and ability to reach anyone anywhere and motivate them and am also a personal trainer and group exercise instructor where I can work closely with my clients and see their change in person! I have dedicated my career to helping others along their fitness goals no matter what shape they start in, what age they are, or any limitations they have.

I have been really missing teaching cycle recently so I decided to try out the Peloton app again because I tried it out at the beginning of the pandemic and decided I could just do it myself. I know sometimes it seems crazy to other people that are fitness professional would pay for a fitness service but it is so nice to have someone else tell you what to do and I have to program for yourself. So while I could program a spin class for myself that is nowhere near as fun as programming for a class or taking a class. I was hoping to actually get back in spin classes in person but that may be a while longer now.

So peloton friends tell me which classes are a must, which instructors are a must, anything I need to know!

It’s January 1!

I know there is nothing actually different about this day BUT for me I love the first of the year, month, week and day. It’s a natural reset.

You will see all sorts of resolutions and goals posted and I LOVE IT! The only problem is that so many industries capitalize on this and only about 30% or less of people will still be shooting for those goals by mid-February.

And yes the fitness and diet industry is one of these. As a part of this industry I can tell you that most trainers, coaches etc do NOT want you to FAIL. WE WANT YOU TO A
SUCEED!

Say what you want about fitness programs, facilities etc BUT trainers themselves do not make money off people who fail! We make money by helping people succeed and helping you be in that 30%. If you have a trainer that doesn’t feel this way - it’s time to find a new one.

I’m all for you having weight loss, fat loss, health goals - whatever you want! No matter what your goal is, I will always want you to do it in a healthy manner and that’s my JOB!

I have my own goals this year and am looking forward to feeling like my body is somewhat mine again. I have been pregnant or nursing Mackenzie for 20 months. While I’m still nursing her (and for me this does not equal any sort of weight loss) I am looking forward to being more myself again.

Weight loss goals get a lot of shade these days and we aren’t supposed to “focus on weight” BUT the reality is that my goals contain weight loss gaols along with body composition goals and if your goal is to look and feel better that’s OK!

Happy new year friends! I’m back on here after much needed time away over the last year and ready to give you real, science backed information to help you w**d through the mess that’s out there!

Still here … still getting a workout or movement in almost everyday. Finally feeling pretty much 100% and excited to go all in again. I’ll be deciding on my next 12-16 program in the next few days and the goal will be simple - finish the program with as little modification as possible (though being really smart about it). 3 major abdominal surgeries in 5 years is not something that gets enough credit in the fitness world. It doesn’t get automatic rehab, checkups, or information (though more and more is coming out all the time). I’ll be sharing more and more because I’ve been lucky enough to know how to treat myself, my recovery, and my fitness but not everyone who goes through this has that information readily available. Excited for the next steps!

This school year has flown by and I am so beyond grateful for Kingswood Christian coming into our lives when we were changing EVERYTHING about our child care situation with me being at home for work. They were PHENOMENAL and most of all SAFE and loving. Due to the pandemic these two actually got to be in the same class once Jaxon switched to in person and they have loved every minute of it. Next school year will be a challenge for them to be apart with Jace headed to Kindergarten (cue the tears now) and Jaxon back at KCP but I’m so excited to see them develop on their own too. (And BTW Kingswood pulled off not only a super safe school year but also was bored #1 preschool!)

Here’s to a fun summer and soaking up the little moments.

I’m back!!

I feel like it’s fitting that my first post in a while is an update on my postpartum health journey. I promised myself that after Mackenzie was born I would spend the rest of the year getting back into the best shape I could. Mentally, physically and spiritually. So far I’ve kept up with my daily devotional and bible reading, kept up with my workouts and have put some things into place to help my mental wellness.

Over the past month I’ve started taking some pretty amazing supplements to help with this and just 2 weeks ago I added in a mood, metabolism and focus booster. Nothing but all natural, heathy supplementation to go with a healthy lifestyle.

The results.....

I went from

👉 stagnant weight loss to decreasing weight and body fat all while increasing muscle and improving my workouts (6 lbs down when I had gone 4 weeks at a plateau)

👉 Better energy and mood even with a newborn and very little rest during the day

👉 Increased focus on the projects I’ve been working on for my business clients

👉Feeling overall healthier

I was soo hesitant for so long and have felt like I already was healthy in all of these areas but I didn’t realize how much better I could feel. I don’t think folks should restrict calories significantly, workout crazy amounts of time,or replace food with supplements. I believe in living a healthy lifestyle and doing your best MOST of the time. The decision to try this amazing product out was solely to see if I could improve my focus, energy and if some weight loss happened that would be great. These are adding an additional benefit to my already healthy lifestyle and I could not be more excited.

I changed things up today and did work in my early morning time and a workout while all three kids were awake. It took a lot of different rockers and chairs and a small break to rock but this one made it through and was all smiles. It’s not my ideal to workout anytime other than 5AM (I know it’s crazy) but trying something new a few days a week to focus on getting those things I can’t do while they are awake done and working out can be done with all the wildness running around me :)

Planning out and reading up on some gardening dates today. At the beginning of the pandemic last March/April we (like many others) decided to try our hand at growing some veggies. Mark built me some boxes out into eh back yard and I was a bit overzealous at first and then ended up just growing a ton of lettuce and peppers - no tomatoes ever came and other things got attacked by pests. I’m determined to make it work a little better this year! Have you planted before? Share all your tips for me! Especially for safe, non toxic pest control if it worked!

Hydration station

This looks ridiculous but I swear I need them all!! My protein shake, my electrolytes and collagen, coffee, and plain old water.

I felt like yesterday I didn’t quite drink enough so trying to increase that today and need to have it all within arms reach since baby girl is not allowing me much time away from her today!

Sunday prep day

What are you doing today to get prepared for a smooth week (or as smooth as they can go)? For us, it’s meal prep and marking off the to-dos that pile up throughout the week.

With a new little baby in the house, my routine of time blocking for the week ahead will be WAY more relaxed but I have some idea of what I hope to accomplish during morning naps and then what I hope to tackle during afternoon naps. I know they may not always happen but having a plan helps!

I am also aiming to start my rehab and retraining phase to get prepared for my return to exercise this week. That will include walking for cardio, and then light stretching/rehab exercises focusing on core and flute activation while increasing thoracic mobility.

I’ll share more as I get started but share below how you prepare for the week! And hopefully there is some relaxing in there too!
