So sad someone would attempt harm on someone coming to aid a person in need.

On the morning of September 17, 2025, Haynes Ambulance and Haynes LifeFlight responded to a medical call in Autauga County.
As Haynes LifeFlight 1 approached the designated landing zone established by the local fire department, the aircraft was struck by gunfire.
One minor injury to a crew member was sustained during the incident, but we are thankful to be able to say that no life was taken or in immediate danger. Despite the circumstances, Haynes LifeFlight 1 was able to land the aircraft safely without further incident. The aircraft remains under inspection and repair.
Local and federal authorities are currently investigating the matter.
Kirk Barrett, Chief Operating Officer of Haynes Life Flight, issued the following statement:
“The safety of our patients and crew is our top priority. We are deeply relieved that our team was able to land safely with only a minor injury reported. We are fully cooperating with authorities as they investigate this incident, and we remain committed to serving our community with the highest standards of care and safety.”
As a company, we remain committed to the safety of our patients, crew, and community. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.

Today marks the beginning of EMS week, 2025.
This year’s theme is “We Care. For Everyone.” EMS professionals have been doing this for over 150 years, since the Civil War.

EMS Week recognizes the never-ending commitment, service, and sacrifice that our Nation’s EMS providers put forth every day.

This week, take the time to look around at your colleagues, acknowledge the good work they do, and be thankful for this profession. It is a calling, and it saves lives.
