Congratulations to Jeff Hamberg on his recent promotion from Lieutenant to Captain. Jeff has returned to his Group 1 where he started his career in Charlton.

The members of Local 4023 would like to thank the department for prioritizing the health of our firefighters. Yesterday Redline Gear Cleaning came to headquarters to professionally clean all our primary sets of turn out gear. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in firefighters and an annual deep cleaning like this is the gold standard for protecting our members from dangerous and harmful carcinogens that get absorbed into our gear.

All proceeds will be donated to Local 4023 member, Stevie Rekos and family. Stevie recently underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor that was found during a doctors appointment. She is currently home and recovering.

Wanted to give everyone an update on Stevie Rekos, she underwent successful surgery this morning to remove the tumor. She is resting comfortably and we'll update when necessary. A huge thank you to everyone who has sent thier well wishes and words of encouragement. If you'd like to donate to her fundraiser, you can do so below.

Stevie Rekos, a Firefighter & member of Charlton Permenant Firefighters Local 4023, is undergoing surgery on Friday, August 22nd to remove a brain tumor. Her family has set up a fundraiser (link below) in an effort to offset medical bills & lost pay. We as a Union ask you to help spread the word so we can make a difference for our Sister as she fights this battle.

Stevie has a long road to recovey post surgery and we'll know more once she is recovering. We want her to know we stand with her, and will be there for her and the family as she recovers.

These highly visible, reflective signs are a huge help to first responders- making it easier to locate addresses quickly when seconds count during an emergency. Day or night, rain or shine, they stand out when it matters most.

This past week Firefighter Kelley and Firefighter Smith completed the Child Passenger Safety course and have become certified car seat technicians.
