"There is not a single day in my life that I remember looking in the mirror and thinking, 'you could be a heart attack victim someday' — it just was not on my radar."

On Dec. 27, 2024, Matt Ropchak, 51, experienced a life-threatening heart attack. Upon arriving at the Emergency Department (ED) at Two Twelve Medical Center, Matt lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest. For 45 minutes, Ridgeview's ED team performed lifesaving CPR on Matt. "They didn't want to give up. That's the part that gets me the most. Some people cared enough — they cared enough to keep fighting. It's because of them that I'm here today."

Rachel and Cody Kasprick, Watertown, were collegiate athletes who met playing their respective sports. Over the next few years, they purchased a house, got married, traveled and welcomed two pups into their home — all while their desire to add a baby to their family grew. Although their journey to parenthood was difficult, the Kaspricks are grateful for the compassionate care they received at Ridgeview’s Birthing Center, both through their sorrow and joy. Mike and Debra missed doing the simple things without pain.

Thanks to their care at the Orthopedic Institute, a value-based partnership between TCO and Ridgeview, they’re moving through life again with comfort and confidence.

“Early in 2024, my wife Debra had an X-ray that showed a worn-out hip joint. TCO’s Dr. Allan Hunt was recommended to us by our daughter and son-in-law. We had the initial appointment with Dr. Hunt, and a date was set for Debra’s surgery.

Both of my knees had bothered me for years, so I asked what could be done for me. Another appointment was scheduled with X-rays, and Dr. Hunt said total knee replacements would correct my situation.

Both of my knees and Debra’s hip were done at the Orthopedic Institute. We can’t say enough about Dr. Hunt’s skill and the care we were given during our three separate overnight stays. The nurses and the entire team were very friendly. They made each visit comfortable and positive. The food was also awesome. We’re extremely satisfied with how we’ve healed and how much easier it is to go about daily life again.”
