When I first laid eyes on this place last June, I stepped out of the car with a crooked smile on my face. I was charmed- already in love with the property's unapologetic character & good looks.
Without thinking, I walked through the yard, enthusiastically harvesting oversized dandelion flowers from the unmowed lawn. I instinctively followed a path between some birches, winding through a feathery grove of emerald ferns. Standing in the woods, nestled between a maze of stone walls, I knew this was my place.
An outdoor bed & breakfast. Weekend retreats, intimate weddings. Big tents & comfy beds, solar lighted pathways, a community firepit lively with good conversation & lots of laughter. A place to heal from modern life, breathe fresh air, reconnect with the stars. Strangers becoming friends.
I wandered to the top of the hill overlooking a grove of maple trees, plopping down on a rock. After a few deep breaths to calm my pounding heart & to shush the imposter in my head telling me I was nuts....I stood up, declaring outloud for all the forest to hear- "I will be back."
That afternoon, I ugly cried my heart out on the way to work. The bluebird sky above me was crisp with clarity. I was weightless and unencumbered- ideas manifesting faster than I could write them down. For the first time in my life I could feel all of my failed projects, mistakes, lessons learned, & abandoned ideas merging together- gently pushing me into my future. The click of peace propelled me to let go of my fears, to dive into my dream.
From then on it was a frenzy of obsession. Coincidences were all around. So very many people supported me, encouraged me, believed in my ideas. I was full of gratitude and excitement. The path opened up before me, I had no choice but to say "yes".
One year later, the challenges we are all facing have proven to me that I made the right decision.
Guests are already becoming friends.
Now more than ever- we all need a place to unwind. I am so grateful I can help.
The energy of this place is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! A huge shout out to everyone who has helped me with this endeavor!
So much love! xoxo
