VA Hillbilly Knives Custom knives made 100% in the USA out of top grade steel also from the USA. We do our own heat treating, grinding, the whole works. Including the leather!

Basically my son's business but I seem to make all of the knives. He makes award winning motorcycles in his shop known as The Butcher Chop and it doesn't leave him much time in the knife shop. We enjoy putting the best American made knife in your hand's that we can make! We use 100% American steel and materials anytime they are available. And we ALWAYS guarantee the quality of our work! Most of ou

r knives are made from Damascus Billets containing 416 layers of mixed steels and alloys to give you the best edge retention possible while still being able to sharpen your knife when needed. We buy the billets in different thickness's and sizes and cut our blades out of it, profile them, grind, heat treat and temper them. We use mostly wood but on occasion other materials for our handles. Our wood is hand selected to do the job and last a life time. Our wood is stabilized when called for to preserve and protect it. We use Cactus Juice tm brand polymers to stabilize our handles in a vacuum chamber made for this use. Likewise we hand pick our leather and sheath materials and buy only US made when possible or available. When you order or purchase a knife from us it is completely hand made, everything from stock removal to the sheath are all done in house. We will ALWAYS use a known steel in your knife, never a guess at what it might or could be. I am very sorry we have not been able to take or complete any orders recently. I have been advised by my doctor not to engage in making knives due to a treatment I am taking for Leukemia. It lowers my platelets and a small accident in the shop could be fatal. I miss everyone and making knives but I am also hoping to be back at it in a very few months. I intend to have this disease under control. Thank you and God Bless, VHK

Our books are now open for 2020! We only have one knife left in our inventory from 2019 which is the one on our wall / banner pic. Making a custom knife is slow but we will be moving on a first come first serve basis. It does take time to make a custom knife. (fully stabilized). About 7.5" total length. Comes with leather sheath as shown in picture. Nice little heavy blade knife, good for cracking small bones when skinning etc. Blade is 1075 high carbon steel and a full 3/16" thick. Handle is made from maple burl and a red hybrid material invented just for knife handles. Comes with sheath but I won't ship past the 15th of Dec. due to postal congestion. Copper rivets with a paw center mosaic pin.This knife cost 175.00 shipped to your door in the lower 48 states. Thanks for looking!!

I posted this one the other day without the sheath. A very exquisite piece of stabilized wood, (American Damascus steel) all profiling, heat treating, grinding etc done right here in house. Thorn and vine file work on top of blade. Copper rivets with a paw design mosaic pin in the center. This knife ships now for $215.00 Priority Mail to the lower 48 states. Great little skinning knife of every day carry. I will not be attempting to ship any knives after December the 15th. Thank you for looking! No matter who you buy from, please buy USA made products! (overall length is about 7 to 7.5 inches. Not a large knife at all.)
