Dr. DeBass received her undergraduate degree from Grove City College in Grove City, PA (1999) and her Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) in 2007. While at PCO, she successfully completed the Pediatric-Advanced-Track and was awarded Highest Clinical Excellence in Pediatrics from the Lynch Pediatric Unit. In 2008, Dr. DeBass completed a residency in Cornea and Specialty Contact Lens at PCO. Before relocating to Virginia, Dr. DeBass gained extensive experience in cataract and refractive (including LASIK) co-management as Clinical Director of the Witlin Center for Advanced Eyecare, known for its expertise in refractive surgery. Not surprisingly, she enjoys caring for a variety of patients, with a special interest and experience in eye disease, specialty and RGP contact lenses, and the management of glaucoma. In addition, Dr. DeBass is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) - which involves post-doctoral examination to demonstrate the highest level of professional competence; an active member of the Virginia Optometric Association and American Optometric Association (AOA); and participates in the AOA's InfantSEE® program. Moreover, Dr. DeBass is an active lecturer for optometric continuing education as well as corporate sponsors, former examiner with the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and adjunct professor at PCO. As an adjunct professor, Dr. DeBass takes pleasure in teaching optometry students in the Advanced Studies Program.
