Sometimes the most powerful reset is also the simplest.

Stand with your feet hip-width apart and pause for a moment.
Before adjusting your posture or focusing on anything else, bring your awareness to your feet.

Notice where they meet the ground.
Is your weight balanced between left and right?
Between your heels and the balls of your feet?

Gently press into the four corners of each foot:
big toe mound, little toe mound, inner heel, outer heel.

Then add breath.
Inhale for 4.
Exhale for 6 or 8.

That longer exhale matters. It signals to your nervous system that you’re safe enough to soften.

For the next couple of minutes, let your feet be your anchor.
When your mind wanders (because it will), simply come back to the sensation of standing.

Sometimes grounding yourself begins with remembering you already have a foundation.

Save this for the next time you need a gentle reset. 🌿

Take a moment.
Soften your shoulders.
Inhale slowly through your nose…
Exhale gently through your mouth.

Take three breaths before moving past this moment.

Santosha, a concept in yoga philosophy, is often translated as contentment, but it doesn’t mean settling.
It means allowing yourself to be at peace with where you are while still holding space for growth.
You don’t have to earn worthiness.
Contentment and growth can co-exist.

Sit with this question for a moment:
What would it look like to appreciate this season of your life while still honoring who you’re becoming?

Save this to reflect on later🤍

It might feel unfamiliar at first.
If you were taught to push, judge, or “fix” yourself to be worthy, self-kindness can feel awkward. But kindness isn’t weakness. It’s regulation. It’s healing. 💕
If this resonates, you’re not behind, you’re becoming aware.

Always remember, you are enough. 🥰

Asteya, the yogic principle of non-stealing, extends far beyond material things.

It asks us to consider how we relate to time, energy, and attention, both our own and others’. When we operate from scarcity, we may unknowingly take more than what is freely offered.

Asteya shifts our awareness toward gratitude, self-sufficiency, and respect for boundaries.

A gentle reflection for today:
Where might you be reaching outside yourself for something you can cultivate within? 🌱

Hold this as a reminder to move through your day with intention. 🧘🏼‍♀️

You can learn a lot about a woman from her childhood photos.
The curiosity.
The passion for learning. 📚
The parts of a woman that existed long before expectations, roles, or survival strategies. The work we do in therapy often begins here, understanding the younger parts of ourselves with kindness.

Most people believe self-criticism helps them improve, but biologically, the opposite is true. Harsh self-judgment activates your nervous system’s threat response. Your brain shifts into survival mode, making growth and emotional regulation harder. Self-kindness creates safety. Safety is what allows real change to happen. This is the foundation of the healing work we do in therapy. If you’re ready to build a healthier relationship with yourself, I offer virtual therapy sessions.

Save this as a reminder:
You don’t grow through punishment.
You grow through safety.

This is a reminder: let love be part of your practice.
Love in how you move.
Love in how you breathe.
Love in how you speak to yourself, on and off the mat.
Practice doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful.
🧘‍
Carry this intention with you this week.

If today has felt heavy, try this:
Place one hand on your heart.
One hand on your belly.
Slow your breath.
You’re here. You are enough.
🤍
Save this for later.

Svadhyaya is the practice of self-study.
Not judgment. Not fixing. Just awareness.
When you turn inward, you begin to understand your patterns, your truth, and your path.
This is where transformation begins.
