NLACRC is a private nonprofit agency that contracts with the State of California to provide services & support to people with developmental disabilities. North Los Angeles County Regional Center provides services and support for people of all ages with developmental disabilities and their families who live within the city of Los Angeles in the East Valley, San Fernando and West Valley, or in the Antelope Valley or Santa Clarita Valley Health Districts of Los Angeles County. Geographic and other restrictions apply. Services may include advocacy, assessment and diagnosis, case management, community education, disability counseling, early intervention for at-risk infants, family support, outreach, out-of-home placement and monitoring, purchase of services and training. Clients are eligible to receive life-long services; they may be referred to contracting agencies for some services.

✨ Meet Nicholas Abrams, a longtime NLACRC board representative who defied every expectation. Doctors once said he had a 30% chance of survival and would never walk, talk, or drive. Today, he has achieved all of that and more.

In this video, Nicholas shares how special education, speech therapy, community programs, and the regional center shaped his journey. He believes in dignity, inclusion, and equal treatment for all people with disabilities.
