Most of us were never actually taught how to feel our feelings.
We were taught to be polite.
To be quiet.
To not be dramatic.
To “get over it.”
So we grow up… and suddenly we are in adult relationships carrying emotions we never learned how to process.
And then couples sit in my office wondering why they keep having the same fights.
More often than not, it is not two adults arguing.
It is two little kids inside them trying to be heard, protected, or loved.
That is why learning to recognize and process your emotions is so powerful. When you understand what your younger self needed, you stop letting that wounded part of you run the whole show.
And that is where real healing begins.
