Friday morning, April 14th my dad peacefully passed away with my mom and I at his side after battling heart failure.

My dad was a quiet, simple man, an avid reader and loved his dog, Sophie.

When I was young, we would go out after school for a couple hours almost every day to play soccer, basketball and/or tennis. It was our quality time together- no tv, just my dad and I spending time and growing our father/daughter relationship.

He was always so patient with everyone, including me as I was learning and making mistakes.

In college, I battled depression and wasn't sure what my future with soccer would look like. Both him and my mom reminded me that I was more important than the sport. That I could quit if I wanted to. That I would be supported and loved either way.

He was instrumental in helping me to find a career that would fit my love of food and helping people, which is how I became a registered dietitian.

He taught me the importance of treating everyone with gentleness and respect.

He was the BEST listener and at every stage of my life I sought his advice because I knew he wasn't going to force his opinions, but rather help me to learn to trust myself.

I love and miss you so much, Dad.

Your daughter,

Jaimee

💭 Imagine playing your absolute best game...

❓How did you prepare the night before?
❓What did you eat for breakfast?
❓How did you feel throughout the game?
❓What does your recovery look like?

Part of that success will be what you eat.

When you saw this post did you think... "What if my game is at 8:30, 9, or 9:30? What do I do?"

Then this is the perfect opportunity to enroll in the Full 90 Course course!

You'll learn the WHY behind when to eat and learn HOW in this course.

Specifically, in this course, you’ll learn:

👉🏼 When and what to eat before games
👉🏼 How to fuel your body as an athlete/soccer player
👉🏼 Understand what a pregame snack is and how to incorporate it
👉🏼 How to create a meal and snack strategy for game day
👉🏼 And so much more!

This course is designed for both parents and athletes!

Power snacks are just that, designed to POWER you through to the next meal!

These snacks help meet your soccer players' overall energy needs and stabilize hunger between meals (or gaps longer than 3 hours).

They contain all the macronutrients: carbohydrates, protein, and fat.

Here are some examples:

🥜 peanut butter (protein + fat) + graham crackers (carbs)

🍎 trail mix (protein + fat) + apple sauce (carbs)

🍇 cottage cheese (protein + fat) + grapes (carbs)

🧀 cheese (protein + fat) + crackers (carbs)

🍓 greek yogurt (protein + fat) + berries (carbs)

🥨 jerky (protein + fat) + pretzels (carbs)

In the Full 90 Course, I teach you how to create power snacks (that can be easily thrown into a backpack for class) and fuel for the entire day - whether it's a game day, rest day, or training day!

This course only requires about 10-20 minutes per week to learn, and then the rest is implemented into your life. I designed it to be easy for the busy family!

If you want to learn more, DM "Course!" Enrollment is only open for 6 more days!!

Youth athletes' ears are wide open, and they interpret everything you say as a parent and a coach.

Because of that, they will take what you say and interpret it based on their experiences and desire to perform well.

For example, as a parent, you might say something like:

"If you want to be quicker, you must eat less and stop eating junk."

I understand the intention of this comment is you want your player to be healthy and succeed.

However, messages like this can often lead players to make choices that will negatively impact their health and performance (the exact opposite of what we want!).

Choices like:

Avoid eating with teammates and friends because they become afraid to eat slightly "unhealthy." This then prevents them from receiving the health-promoting benefits of socializing and feeling like their connecting in a different way than on the field.

Not eating enough on rest days because they're worried about "overeating." When rest days are supposed to be a way for their muscles to repair, which requires food to do so!

Avoid carbs during the day because carbs are "bad." Without really understanding that carbohydrates are the key to unlocking energy on the field.

This is why understanding nutrition science for performance can be so helpful. So that you can help guide your athlete to make choices to support their health and performance without them being misled by misinformation or a poor understanding of how food works in our bodies.

It's here!! 🎉

The Full 90 Course is officially open for enrollment, and closes in 8 days (and pre-sale price of $200 off ends tomorrow 😱).

In The Full 90 course, you’ll learn how to:

✅ Build a meal for better on-the-field performance

✅ Prevent underfueling which can lead to fatigue and reduced performance

✅ Choose a power snack that supports you during school

✅ Understand what energy snack works best for you

✅ Choose the best recovery snack for you after games and training

✅ Create training day and rest day meals that supports energy and recovery

✅ Create game day and pre-game meals for better energy, stamina, strength and focus.

… and so much more

This course is designed for both parents and athletes, meaning if your athlete isn't as invested as you'd hope - that's fine!

You'll still be able to apply and use the information to help them (and make cooking meals for the family easier).

But if your athlete IS invested and you want them to take more accountability in the kitchen - this course will help them do that.

It's easy to throw some mini corn dogs in the microwave and call it a day.

I get it. I've been there too! And sometimes that is okay.

But to really maximize your performance on the field, it's important to learn how to create complete meals after practice.

Eat the mini corndogs, but by adding greek yogurt, you'll get some additional protein, and a side salad adds some fiber.

👉🏼 Are you completely lost about what to eat after soccer practice? I know it can be confusing with all the nutrition information out there!

Send me a DM 📲 with the word "practice" to chat more about how I can support you (or your soccer player) in fueling for performance.

Let's have a little tough love chat here... ❤️

As a performance dietitian, I feel it's my duty to ensure that everyone on the "athlete's team" is aware of their role and the impact their language has.

Because we are dealing with youth athletes who are going to take the messages and skills they learn now for the rest of their life...

The messages they hear must be empowering, encouraging, non-judgmental, and support a positive relationship with food and their body.

I have had so many clients come to me telling me horrific things their coach has told them, and I have to spend months helping them unlearn those messages so they can relearn how to fuel like an athlete.

We are all on the same team here, and I know coaches are doing what they feel is best.

But there's a reason why performance dietitians are here... to help athletes FUEL (now and for life).

The #1 reason why I don't recommend calorie counting ⤵️

It can lead to FOOD OBSESSION and UNDERFUELING.

Two things you do not want as a high-school athlete.

It is possible to teach young athletes about nutrition and how to fuel their bodies without them putting every single thing they eat into an app.

I mean just think about it... 💭

Just simply calorie counting doesn't teach young athletes how to identify and use the different macronutrients to their advantage.

All it does is teach them the amount of energy in different foods.

🎉 This is why in my Full 90 Course, I teach athletes (and their parents) how to utilize performance plates to create complete meals that will increase energy, stamina, and endurance on the field.

Eating disorders aren’t a choice or a vanity issue. They’re not a phase someone will outgrow. They are the second deadliest mental illness, killing someone every 52 minutes.

But despite their seriousness, a huge proportion of those struggling go undiagnosed, and many who do get diagnosed go without treatment. While this is due to a constellation of reasons, pervasive and harmful misconceptions about eating disorders are one of the main culprits.

We invite you to help debunk those myths by learning about the science of eating disorders, what they look like, who gets them, and more.

Does your player eat less on rest days?

Because, well, they're not moving as much, so they should eat less... right?

➡️ ACTUALLY, your player doesn't need to eat LESS they need to understand how the different macronutrients (carbohydrates 🍞, protein 🍗, and fat 🥑) are utilized in the body

to maximize recovery, prevent injuries, and maintain muscles!

This is why understanding what to eat before, during, and after games + training and what to eat on rest days is so important to increase performance. 🎉

What's your favorite Rest Day meal? Let me know in the comments 👇🏻

👉🏼 I get so many soccer players who come to me feeling like they have no idea what to eat.

And the thought of eating BEFORE and AFTER a game can feel anxiety-provoking (hello, that's SO MUCH FOOD! 😩).

Can you relate?

➡️ But this is why it is essential to understand WHY eating before and after a game will improve performance and increase energy.

Understanding the WHY behind your actions can quiet that little voice telling you that you're "overeating."

‼️I promise trying to eat as little as possible isn't going to help you reach your goals ‼️

In my Full 90 Program, you (the athlete!) and your parents will learn:

🎉 How to build and adjust meals that support your body on any given day.

🎉 How to build different snacks to provide energy and get you recovering more efficiently, whether on a school day with double training sessions afterward or at a showcase.

🎉 How to approach the timing of meals and snacks that help you adjust your fueling easily.

🎉 How to drink a hydration strategy.

🎉 How to build a flexible fueling strategy that works, especially when traveling.

And so much more!

This program builds your confidence to know what and when to eat to become an elite soccer athlete.
