Friday morning, April 14th my dad peacefully passed away with my mom and I at his side after battling heart failure.
My dad was a quiet, simple man, an avid reader and loved his dog, Sophie.
When I was young, we would go out after school for a couple hours almost every day to play soccer, basketball and/or tennis. It was our quality time together- no tv, just my dad and I spending time and growing our father/daughter relationship.
He was always so patient with everyone, including me as I was learning and making mistakes.
In college, I battled depression and wasn't sure what my future with soccer would look like. Both him and my mom reminded me that I was more important than the sport. That I could quit if I wanted to. That I would be supported and loved either way.
He was instrumental in helping me to find a career that would fit my love of food and helping people, which is how I became a registered dietitian.
He taught me the importance of treating everyone with gentleness and respect.
He was the BEST listener and at every stage of my life I sought his advice because I knew he wasn't going to force his opinions, but rather help me to learn to trust myself.
I love and miss you so much, Dad.
Your daughter,
Jaimee
