Dr. Matthew Kreth and nurses from Children's Hospital at Erlanger Cystic Fibrosis Center participated in Cleveland's CF Great Strides Walk to raise funds for a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). All funds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which leads CF research worldwide and provides support and guidelines for CF Centers.

CF is a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system, causing thick, sticky mucus that makes it hard to breathe and fight infections. Approximately 1,000 people in the United States are diagnosed each year, and with advances in CF treatments and research funded by the CF Foundation, patient life expectancy has increased from two years old to well into the 60s.

Children's Hospital at Erlanger offers advanced testing and diagnosis for CF, including newborn screening, and personalized care from a compassionate multidisciplinary team. We’re here to support every step of a patient's journey from childhood to transition to the Erlanger Adult CF Clinic team.

We had a blast at our Children’s Miracle Network rally, where we celebrated 40 years of CMN membership and total fundraising of $673,310 in 2025! 100% of funds stays local and directly benefits Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

We also presented our new class of Miracle Kids: Norah, Stella, Jasper, Anna, Brooklyn, and Whitleigh, the last of whom was selected as a CMN National Champion, representing our city and hospital across the country.
