🌡️ Did you know? On a 90°F day, the temperature inside a car can reach over 130°F in just 30 minutes, even with the windows cracked. Every year, dozens of children in the U.S. die from heatstroke after being left in hot cars. Most are under 3 years old. These simple tips can help prevent hot-car incidents:
✅ Never leave a child alone in the car
✅ Always check the backseat
✅ Create reminders - set an alarm on your phone or leave a stuffed animal in the front seat

🚑✨ A new era of care has arrived!

Today, we proudly unveiled two state-of-the-art neonatal and pediatric transport vehicles that will bring life-saving care to children across our region, up to 150 miles from Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

These mobile intensive care units are equipped with the same advanced technology found in our NICU and PICU. For the first time, they allow parents to accompany their child during transport, bringing comfort and connection during critical moments.

This milestone was made possible by the incredible generosity of our community. Your support is helping us deliver expert care wherever it’s needed most.

Gun violence is an ongoing public health crisis in the United States that impacts the health and well-being of us all. At Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, we advocate for a safer future for children and believe prevention can start at home.

Help protect your family with these essential firearm safety tips:
🔒 Store fi****ms unloaded and locked in a cabinet, safe, or vault.
🔑 Use a gun-locking device even when stored.
📦 Keep ammunition locked separately from fi****ms.
🚫 Ensure children cannot access keys or storage areas.
🧠 Talk to your children about gun safety in age-appropriate ways.
🚗 In vehicles, store unloaded fi****ms in secure lock boxes and never leave them where children or pets can reach them.

May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, a time to raise awareness of communication disorders and the importance of speech, language, and hearing, as well as celebrating the work of audiologists and speech-language pathologists (SLPs). We are so lucky to have an amazing team of both adult and pediatric SLPs, audiologists, and audiology techs here at Erlanger. These individuals play a huge role in the comprehensive care of our patients who require speech and audiology services.
