NATIONAL BARBERSHOP MUSIC APPRECIATION DAY

If you can hear that sweet music today, you already know it's National Barbershop Music Appreciation Day. Today, we celebrate a ca****la style of music and commemorate the anniversary of one of its musical societies.

Barbershop music's roots lay in African American culture and their traditional improvisational music from the 1800s. Folk songs and hymns sung in four parts led to the four-part harmony of barbershop music.
