Hospice of Chattanooga

Hospice of Chattanooga Dedicated to the belief that no one should reach the end of life alone, afraid or in pain, and that

Hospice of Chattanooga began in 1981 as an all-volunteer agency. Today, it is the community's oldest, largest, not-for-profit, United Way-supported hospice. We are specialists in end-of-life care, with full-time physicians on staff certified in palliative medicine to manage pain and symptoms. Medicare covers the full cost of hospice care for terminally ill individuals who choose the hospice benefit and agree to stop seeking curative treatments. Most private insurance plans also cover hospice care and reimbursements vary by plan. As a not-for-profit hospice provider, Hospice of Chattanooga never turns away a terminally-ill individual because of an inability to pay for our services. We rely on support from the community and donations made to The Hospice of Chattanooga Foundation subsidize our non-reimbursed care. We provide quality end of life care to 18 counties in Tennessee and North Georgia. In Tennessee, we serve Hamilton, Bradley, Polk, McMinn, Meigs, Rhea, Bledsoe, Sequatchie, Grundy, and Marion counties. In Georgia serving Catoosa, Whifield, Murray, Gordon, Floyd, Chattooga, Walker, and Dade counties. We at Hospice of Chattanooga will take the time to listen, honor your choices, and walk with you through life's journey.

Meet Amy, our Business Office Manager for our West Office.

At Hospice of Chattanooga, we’re proud to serve our communities with 24/7 compassionate care, and that dedication shines through our incredible colleague Amy.

Amy shares why she loves being part of Hospice of Chattanooga:

“Being able to offer reassurance to our patients’ families when they call with questions, concerns, or needs is such a blessing to me. Having the opportunity to support our staff allows them to focus on what’s most important, our patients and their loved ones as they navigate the hardest and most unsure times in their lives.”

From Jasper, TN, Amy and the team work alongside local physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and chaplains to ensure comfort, dignity, and care every step of the way. 💜

Spiritual support is a cornerstone of hospice care. During National Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate our chaplains and spiritual counselors who walk alongside patients and families, offering comfort, prayer, and presence during some of life’s most tender moments. Whether through words of encouragement, listening ears, or shared prayer, spiritual care brings peace and hope when it’s needed most.

Early detection saves lives. National Mammography Day is a reminder for women to schedule regular mammograms, an essential step in finding breast cancer early, when it is most treatable. For the families we serve, we know how valuable preventive care can be. Encourage the women in your life to take this step towards protecting their health.

Help us continue to advocate for good handwashing and for a healthy future. Handwashing may be simple, but it is one of the most powerful tools we have to prevent illness and protect lives. On Global Handwashing Day, we are reminded that small actions, like washing hands properly with soap and water, can have a big impact in protecting patients, families, and caregivers. In hospice care, these daily practices are part of how we ensure safety and comfort for all.

This week, we celebrate the incredible dedication of case managers who bring clarity and compassion to the journey.
