Hospice of Chattanooga

Hospice of Chattanooga Dedicated to the belief that no one should reach the end of life alone, afraid or in pain, and that

Hospice of Chattanooga began in 1981 as an all-volunteer agency. Today, it is the community's oldest, largest, not-for-profit, United Way-supported hospice. We are specialists in end-of-life care, with full-time physicians on staff certified in palliative medicine to manage pain and symptoms. Medicare covers the full cost of hospice care for terminally ill individuals who choose the hospice benefit and agree to stop seeking curative treatments. Most private insurance plans also cover hospice care and reimbursements vary by plan. As a not-for-profit hospice provider, Hospice of Chattanooga never turns away a terminally-ill individual because of an inability to pay for our services. We rely on support from the community and donations made to The Hospice of Chattanooga Foundation subsidize our non-reimbursed care. We provide quality end of life care to 18 counties in Tennessee and North Georgia. In Tennessee, we serve Hamilton, Bradley, Polk, McMinn, Meigs, Rhea, Bledsoe, Sequatchie, Grundy, and Marion counties. In Georgia serving Catoosa, Whifield, Murray, Gordon, Floyd, Chattooga, Walker, and Dade counties. We at Hospice of Chattanooga will take the time to listen, honor your choices, and walk with you through life's journey.

Today we celebrate Certified Nurses Day and recognize the dedication, knowledge, and compassion our certified nurses bring to patients and families every day.

Certified Nurses Day is observed on March 19th in honor of the birthday of Margretta Madden Style, a leader who helped establish professional nursing certifications as a way to recognize excellence, advanced knowledge, and a commitment to lifelong learning in nursing.

Thank you to our certified nurses for the heart, skill, and compassion you bring to every patient and family you serve.

☘️ Our Volunteer Coordinators had a lucky day out in the community celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️

Jessica spread a little sweetness by delivering donuts to our amazing community partners in Cleveland, while Lauren did the same in Chattanooga. We’re so grateful for the partnerships that help us serve our patients and families every day.

We wrapped up the festivities with a fun facility ice cream social to celebrate a great day! 🍦💚

Thank you to all of our community partners for the continued support! You make our mission possible.

This World Social Work Day, we recognize the powerful impact social workers have in bringing hope, healing, and connection to the communities they serve.

This year’s theme, “Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society,” reminds us that meaningful changes happen when we come together to support one another. Inspired by “harambee,” meaning all pull together, social workers help bridge gaps, advocate for dignity, and strengthen families during life’s most vulnerable moments.

Thank you to our social workers for helping patients and families find comfort, understanding, and hope every day.

Volunteer Coordinators Lauren and Jessica had a wonderful time at the Career Fair at Bryan College! We loved connecting with students, sharing opportunities to serve, and spreading the word about the mission and impact of Hospice of Chattanooga. Thank you to Bryan College for hosting such a great event and to all the students who stopped by to learn more about making a difference in our community. 💙

This World Kidney Day, we are reminded that kidney health is about caring for the whole person and the world around us.

This year’s theme, “Kidney Health for All: Caring for People, Protecting the Planet,” highlights the importance of prevention, education, and compassionate care that supports healthier communities for generations to come.

Together, we can protect health, preserve dignity, and make every moment matter.

Meet the Women Behind the Mission. This Women’s History Month, we are celebrating some of the incredible women who help shape compassionate care in our community.

Jennifer brings encouragement, strength, and support to patients, families, and our colleagues. Her commitment reminds us that sometimes the greatest impact comes through simply showing up with a caring heart.

We are grateful for all that you do.
