Mary Charlene LaMar, went to her heavenly home on July 27, 2025 after battling cancer. Mrs. LaMar was born to Geraldine and Leon Ziegler on May 27, 1950 in Chattanooga, TN where she graduated from Tyner High School. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Carson Newman College and a master’s degree of Social Work from the University of Tennessee.
Mrs. LaMar served as a social worker for Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home until having children of her own, dedicating her life to creating a loving and nurturing home for her husband of 43 years, Jack, and their two children. In later years, she opened The Tea Cottage, where she used her southern culinary skills to impact the lives of many individuals in the community.
God created Charlene with a very special gift of hospitality. She would ask questions that most would dare not inquire and would go out of her way to show kindness, not with an agenda, but because she genuinely cared about people. She viewed it as a calling to humbly and intentionally invest in the lives of people the Lord had placed in her path.
Mrs. LaMar was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, cooking, and spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Ryan Jackson LaMar. She is survived by her husband, Jack LaMar, her daughter, Kathryn (Steven) Massaro, and her three grandchildren, Ella, James, and Owen Massaro. She is also survived by her brother, Terry (Cindy) Ziegler, brother-in-law, Chuck (Andrea) LaMar, sister-in-law, Georgia LaMar, and several nieces and nephews.

28/07/2025

Elizabeth Zoller Anderson Jones, a devoted servant of Christ and a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 25, 2025. Born on December 21, 1939, in Orlando, Florida, Elizabeth lived a life defined by faith, resilience, joy, and a heart that overflowed with love for others.
She was a proud graduate of Boone High School in Orlando, where she was a popular cheerleader known for her lively spirit and natural warmth. One of her favorite stories from her youth reflected her charm and sense of humor: In the early days of Elvis Presley’s career, he visited Orlando. Elizabeth’s father, who was friends with the editor of the local newspaper, arranged for her to pose for a photo with Elvis kissing her on the cheek. Always thoughtful, Elizabeth declined the offer as she didn’t want to make her boyfriend jealous. That story remained a favorite memory she loved to share with a twinkle in her eye.
Later in life, Elizabeth pursued higher education and graduated summa cm laude from Chattanooga State Community College with a degree in Advertising Arts. Creative and driven, she used her talents not only in personal expression but also to serve God. She worked with several Christian ministries and ran a Christian arts business that allowed her to combine her love for art and her passion for sharing the Gospel.
Elizabeth’s greatest desire was to bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ. She served faithfully in her church, both as secretary and an active member in various ministries. Her faith was at the center of everything she did, and her life reflected a deep, unwavering trust in God. Her favorite Bible verse, which she lived by every day, was: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13
In 1977, Elizabeth endured and overcame a devastating house fire at her home in East Ridge, Tennessee. After falling from a second-story window onto a concrete porch, she survived against all odds. Even in the face of that trauma, and many other challenges throughout her life, her spirit remained strong, and her faith never wavered. She was a true overcomer.
Elizabeth was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, Fred Jones; her four children: Rick Anderson, Kirk (Patti) Anderson, Vickie (David) Howland, Marchiel (Chris) Huskey, and Mark Brouillard, whom she considered a son. Additionally, she is survived by her stepdaughters, Jennifer (Chris) Parton and Amy Bailey, and two sisters, Zaida Zoller and Reeny (Danny) Dawson. She leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the pride of her life.
She was a joyful supporter of her family’s passions, especially motocross and camping, and could always be found on the sidelines cheering with pride. Her home was a warm and welcoming place, where her children’s friends were always greeted with love, and many came to affectionately call her their “second mom.” Her heart was generous, her smile infectious, and her presence comforting.
Elizabeth was also a gifted artist and an exceptional cook, known for creating meals that were as memorable as they were delicious. She saw the best in everyone, found light in the darkest moments, and never hesitated to share words of encouragement and hope.
She often said with a twinkle in her eye, “That’s the way the ball bounces, the law of the jungle, and the cookie crumbles.” In that playful phrase was her quiet wisdom, a reminder to embrace life with grace, humor, and faith.
Elizabeth leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, creativity, and unshakable faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her example lives in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday July 30, 2025, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, Valley View Chapel, 7414 Old Lee Hwy. Chattanooga, TN 37421.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 until 6:00 PM.

Dr. Larry Ewing Fogo, Sr., 93, passed away peacefully in Chattanooga, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family. A resident of Chattanooga, Larry was born on September 27, 1931, to the late Byron and Grace Boyd Fogo.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Susan Talley Fogo; his parents; his brother, Byron Mills Fogo, Jr.; his sisters, Mildred Jacqueline “M.J.” Collins and her husband, Gene Collins, and Nancy Caulkins and her husband, Wilford (“Billy”) Caulkins.
A graduate of Baylor School, Class of 1949, Larry continued his education at the University of Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee, ultimately earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in 1955. He practiced dentistry in Chattanooga for 50 years, 26 of those years alongside his son, building a legacy of gentle care, trust, and dedication to their patients.
Larry was a lifetime member of both the American Dental Association and the Chattanooga Area Dental Society. Beyond his professional life, he served his community faithfully as a member of the Kiwanis Club and as an elder at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A man of deep faith and generosity, with a heart for wanting people to know Jesus, his Lord and Savior, Larry was a strong supporter of Christian missionaries and ministries, including Bethel Bible Village, Chattanooga Prison Ministries, Chambliss Center for Children, and many others.

He was a devoted husband to Susan throughout their 68 year marriage, caring for her lovingly and faithfully after she was affected by polio early in their life together. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, selflessness, and quiet strength. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a kind and caring presence in the lives of his patients and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Dr. James Mills (“Jimmy”) Fogo and his wife, Karen, and Larry Ewing (“Buddy”) Fogo, Jr. and his wife, Beth; grandchildren, Christy Fogo Martin (John), Katie Fogo Terry (Miller), Jimbo Fogo (Leslie), Elizabeth Fogo Robinson (Rob), Stewart Fogo (Jenny), and Byron Fogo; 17 precious great grandchildren, who brought him such joy; also, many nieces and nephews.
The family is deeply grateful to April Elaster for her loving care of Susan and Larry over the last decade, making her like a family member to us all. Thank you, April, from the bottom of our hearts. We would also like to give heartfelt thanks to Christy Fogo Martin for her wonderful care of her grandfather over the last several months. In addition, we would also like to thank Marcia, Christy, Drema, Linda and Jennifer from Home Comforts Sitting Service, as well as the staffs at Hearth Hospice and the Hospice Care Center for their compassionate care of Larry.
