The Chattanooga Area Nurses in Advanced Practice would like to wish you a happy Juneteenth. It marks the day in 1865 enslaved people in Galveston, Texas found out they had been freed — after the end of the Civil war, and two years after President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.

There are several Juneteenth events taking place in Chattanooga today. The Bessie Smith Cultural Center is hosting a festival from 11am to 6pm. More info can be found here: https://www.bessiesmithcc.org/event-details/juneteenth-celebration-of-freedom-1

Wow! Congratulations to all of our new graduates! We had an amazing night celebrating you and connecting with each other. Some of our seasoned APRNS, Roxanne, Ann, Kelly, and Nicole, provided us with sage advice, useful to both new grads and established APRNs alike.

Thank you so much to Grace with Black Lotus Wellness Center for hosting us at her beautiful space. Please consider supporting her business! https://blacklotuswc.com/

Additionally, thank you to Shanna, Kelly, Anna, and Roxanne (and her lovely husband, Chad!) for organizing/setting up this event. We hope to plan more in the future, so make sure to follow us on social media for updates!
