I promise my heart was in the right place LOL. I just didn’t factor in the gazillion markets we were doing at the time and the fact that at some point, we needed to sleep.

I didn’t have language for “holding space” yet.

I just knew how to gather people, slow things down, and create room to breathe.

We are BACK after our much needed winter break. Those back to back markets took a toll on us, and like many small business owners, we truly embody the idea that if we don’t work, we don’t eat. But we also need rest! And that is what we did.

Now that we’re back in the studio, we’re easing into order fulfillment with care and intention.

And for the record.

Anyone who knows me knows I don’t skimp on customer service when it comes to Divine Purity. More often than not, I go above and beyond to make sure the experience is memorable in the best way.

No one has ever waited weeks for an order to ship from us. Ever.

I don’t like customers having to email asking about their orders, which is exactly why we’re proactive. Orders ship in a timely manner, and if there is ever an issue or delay, I reach out personally to communicate that. I don’t leave people guessing. That has always been the standard here.

That said, even while clearly stating our winter closure on the website, we still received a few emails asking where orders were. And if I’m being honest, those messages made it clear the pop up box wasn’t read.

I appreciate the support. I just appreciate it a little more when the information provided is actually read.

What’s changed isn’t how we operate. It’s what people have been conditioned to expect.

Amazon has completely shifted human expectations around how things are done. It has trained people to expect instant fulfillment without understanding process, care, or context. And on top of that, people do not read.

We are a handmade, small batch business run by real people. That means real hands, real time, and real intention.

Choosing small means choosing a different rhythm. Not because we lack efficiency, but because what we create is human.

Patience isn’t a lack of service. It’s part of the purchase.

Our Story

Aromatic, Conscious, Therapeutic. These are the three philosophies that we live and practice every day at Divine Purity.

My name is Cassandra Tucker and I am the founder and owner of Divine Purity, a family-run company that produces natural self-care products that aid the user in their emotional and physical well-being.

With what started off as some family and friends’ interest in a few of my homemade self-care products, my client base slowly and steadily grew city-wide.

Today, Divine Purity has over two dozen different products ranging from candles to lotions to essential oils.

The Beginning

The creation of Divine Purity was something that organically happened. I didn’t wake up one day and say “you know what, I think I want to own a business.” Being an entrepreneur is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and it definitely chose me. Caring for my grandmother was what started it all.

In 2009, my husband and I took in my ailing grandmother to live with us. She was diagnosed with a multitude of terminal illnesses, including cancer, kidney failure, and congestive heart failure, along with high blood pressure. She was given a mere six months to live.

I wanted to help in any way I could, and the first step was to change her diet to help lower her blood pressure. And that simple, natural remedy helped extend my grandmother’s life - she lived an extra two years. The realization that natural intervention could be so beneficial was what helped plant the seed that grew to become Divine Purity.

During that time of helping my grandmother, I had decided to stop using any chemical hair products and instead used homemade, nature-based products to moisturize and maintain my hair. My friends started asking if I would sell them my concoctions, and the seed of Divine Purity began to plant its roots deeper.

By 2011, I began selling hair care products, such as leave-in conditioner, apple cider vinegar rinse, and “Coil Essence,” a moisturizer for naturally curly hair. Most of these products were geared toward women with “ethnic hair.”

A lot of what I do is God-inspired. God deals with me through my dreams....and God told me that I wasn’t supposed to be just [helping] one particular group of people - that I was supposed to have an impact on all people.

It was from that moment that Divine Purity was born, and I began to expand my natural self-care products to a wider range of clientele. I started to make sugar scrubs, lip balms, soaps, candles and so much more.

Creating and Expanding

As we grew the business, I decided to quit my day job as a high-risk loan processor, and focus solely on Divine Purity. I researched and created new products, and the business started booming.

Every product is made with all-natural ingredients and are all organic and plant-based, and everything is handmade in small batches in our studio. I refuse to make anything that is not healing or beneficial. I’m not selling fads, or just doing things because I can. I have a purpose, and my purpose is to heal.

We do not use harsh preservatives. Besides our candles, all of our products are produced only when our stock gets low. This is because, without chemical preservatives, items like lotions will have a shelf life of only about six months. We want people to be able to get the freshest products possible.

Building the Future

We’ve morphed and grown as people, and the business has followed suit.

Starting out as selling some homemade hair products to friends, we have taken Divine Purity and turned it into a holistic, mind and body healing experience for myself and our clients.

I went through a process of emotional healing - really growing and nurturing myself. Divine Purity now has become tools for people to use on their own journey of healing.
