✨ Celebrating 30 Years at Parkridge! ✨

When asked what has kept him at Parkridge for three decades, his answer came easily:
“I enjoy working with the kids and my co-workers. I’m still friends with people I met working here 30 years ago!”

What he loves most about the job?
“Having an impact on the kids within the short time we have them—helping them in ways that can benefit them for life. If you don’t believe that, well… as Eric says, you’re toast! 🍞”

And his advice for new employees:
“Find your connection to purpose—why you’re here—and get to know your co-workers. That connection makes all the difference.”

Three decades of dedication, compassion, and purpose—thank you for the incredible impact you’ve made at Parkridge Valley! 💙

Parkridge Valley Child and Adolescent Campus exclusively treats children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral health problems. At just 22 years old, Alyson Ziegler experienced the unthinkable: severe heart and lung failure.

But thanks to collaboration between our multiple care teams in multiple locations, today we celebrate her courageous journey and the lifesaving power of the extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation program at TriStar Centennial Medical Center.

This program allows our specialized teams at TriStar Centennial to take extracorporeal membrane oxygenation treatment, also known as ECMO, outside of its hospital walls to serve critical patients at our affiliated sites of care. In this case, Alyson, who arrived at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield for immediate care.

We're excited to share that our Heart Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program at TriStar Centennial Medical Center has earned a prestigious three-star rating from the STS/ACC TVT Registry — the highest score possible from one of the most respected organizations tracking TAVR procedures across the U.S. This rating places us among the top-performing TAVR centers in the country, with fewer than 10% of programs nationwide achieving this distinction.

The three-star rating reflects superior performance in key areas such as reduced complication rates, shorter hospital stays, and improved patient recovery. It’s not based on opinion, but on rigorous data analysis comparing our outcomes to hundreds of other programs. This recognition speaks to our commitment to Raising the Bar — delivering the safest and most advanced patient care possible, grounded in our unwavering belief in doing what’s right for our patients.

This achievement is a direct reflection of our incredible cardiac care teams — from evaluation through procedure, recovery, and follow-up — who prove every day that excellent people make excellence happen. Thank you for your dedication to delivering exceptional, high-quality care every step of the way. Congratulations, team!

Every tee, every heartbeat — a second chance is a gift.

During a round of golf, 61-year-old Anthony Holt collapsed on the course from a sudden cardiac arrest. Two bystanders — brothers Zach and Gabe — didn't hesitate. They ran to his side and began CPR, never stopping for more than 20 minutes until help arrived. Nashville Fire Department #11 continued resuscitating Anthony, defibrillating him until his pulse returned. Anthony was transported to TriStar Centennial Medical Center and admitted to the Cardiogenic Shock team.

"Being out for 25 minutes and then them bringing me back to life, getting me to the hospital, and to the hospital team. All of a sudden, taking over. From emergency responders to the hospital — I can tell you that I have been blessed immensely by the people who have touched me in this hospital," Anthony said. "I just want to personally thank you all for the love that you gave myself, that you gave my family, and that you gave my friends."

This month, his doctors, family, and friends gathered at our hospital's cardiac floor to celebrate his amazing outcome, and full heart recovery. Anthony personally thanked the hospital team, NFD, and honored Zach and Gabe with golfing trophies — a heartfelt reminder of the day they helped save his life.

The doctors inside the Heart and Vascular Center at TriStar Centennial are prepared for it all. Our dedicated Cardiogenic Shock team includes specialists from interventional cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, advanced heart failure, critical care, and emergency medicine. We personalize your care to accommodate the needs of both you and your family and stay on the leading edge when it comes to modern equipment and technology. That way, you can receive the thorough cardiovascular care you deserve when you need it the most.

🌟 Feature Friday Spotlight 🌟
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Jessica, one of our incredible nurses here at the Parkridge Valley Mental Health & Wellness Child and Adolescent Residential Campus! 💛

💬 What brought you here?
“I applied to Parkridge Valley for a nurse position that would complement my graduate school plans. I came here wanting to learn more about behavioral health, and I feel like I’ve finally found my niche.”

💛 3 things I love about my job:

1️⃣ My coworkers. Every single person here has been so kind, helpful and supportive. It truly feels like a team.

2️⃣ The work we do. I didn’t know I’d love this job as much as I do!

3️⃣ The patients. They inspire me with their adaptability, growth, courage and even their sense of humor.

💡 Favorite memory so far:
“The funny things the kids say always brighten my day. But most of all, I love seeing the transformation in our patients—watching them grow, adapt and build skills that will stay with them for life.”

💛 We’re so grateful to have Jessica as part of our Parkridge Valley Mental Health & Wellness Child and Adolescent Residential Campus family! Thank you for your passion, dedication and heart for our patients

90 years. That’s a birthday most of us hope to see one day. 🎂

For Lucy Nelson, her 90th birthday is a joyful reminder of the power of our purpose as healthcare workers across TriStar Health. At 85 years old, Lucy wasn’t thinking about future milestones. She was in the critical care unit at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center battling COVID.

What made a lasting impression? A connection with her nurse, Caleb McKenney. It’s a relationship that has continued in the years since. On Lucy’s 86th birthday, Caleb showed up to her party with a bag of clementines, her favorite snack in the hospital. Though he couldn’t attend her 90th birthday party, he sent a heartfelt video message that brought her to tears.

“Caleb’s care gave us more time. More birthdays, more holidays, more celebrations,” said Lucy’s daughter, Jill. “We wouldn’t have gotten all of that without him and TriStar Hendersonville.”

Did you know: lung cancer is the second most common type of cancer and the leading cause of cancer death?

We encourage you to prioritize your lung health and consider a lung cancer screening, particularly for those at high risk. Yearly screening, especially with low-dose CT scans, can help detect lung cancer early when it’s most treatable.

Screening is recommended if you:
- Are between 50-80 years old
- Currently smoke or are a former smoker

As part of the HCA Healthcare Sarah Cannon Cancer Network, we proudly offer low-dose CT scans, which offer less radiation than traditional CT scans and produce higher-quality images for physicians. Call (615) 342-LUNG to see if you are eligible or learn more: https://bit.ly/4mmiSH5

🐝We are excited to present this Bee Award to an outstanding team member! 🐝

Zach is an incredible Mental Health Tech and Lead Tech that consistently goes the extra mile. They bring energy, empathy, and expertise to every patient interaction, making a real difference in care and morale. Their dedication, like patiently de-escalating a crisis or simply offering a supportive ear, is truly inspiring. We're so proud to honor them today! 👏

One powerful example of their dedication is when they spent over an hour outside with a patient experiencing delusions. Instead of becoming frustrated or rushing the process, they patiently remained with the patient, offering steady conversation and reassurance. Their ability to de-escalate the situation and help the patient feel safe again speaks volumes about their compassion and skill.

Congratulations! Thank you for your hard work, your dedication, for being someone both patients and staff can count on and for Being Exceptional Everyday (BEE)! 🐝👏
