During Black History Month, we would again like to highlight educators and innovators who helped to revolutionize and Audiology, Speech, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy industries.
Our first honoree is Dr. Sandra C. Holley-Carter: trailblazer, visionary, and the first African American president of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). A renowned speech-language pathologist and former dean, her leadership helped reshape the field by adding inclusive, culturally responsive definitions of communication, ensuring differences were never mistaken for deficits. Her legacy continues to inspire generations in the speech and hearing industry.
