Employment isn’t a reward for mental health recovery. For many, it’s a core part of it. Among AIM Center members working toward employment goals, more than 50% were employed in 2025, and even more are eager to find meaningful, competitive work.
Community-based mental health recovery offers many benefits, including the chance to learn from and be inspired by peers. Sharing successes across the Clubhouse and beyond matters, because seeing a peer achieve a goal helps others believe they can too. Larry is one of those peers. He’s been an AIM Center member since 2018 and currently works as a Floor Tech at Erlanger Hospital, where he sanitizes and prepares the hospital environment to create a safe and welcoming space for all who come through.
“Work made me more responsible, accountable, and aware. AIM Center supported me to be more accountable. They believed in me. The people at work, it’s like one big family over there. They treat me like family.”
