Our Story

MBody Options is the business page that promotes the professional services of Moniquecolous S. Garner-Weeks. She is a DONA trained Birth & Post-Partum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, Perinatal Educator, Decorative Pregnancy & Life Cast Artist, Holistic Women's Wellness Advocate and Pregnant Teen & Young Adult Mentor. Her primary focus is to help bridge the gap of under served & marginalized individuals seeking quality healthcare from their immediate medical community. Specific concentration being given to black women and their families, in an effort to help in the reduction of the disparities that plague the black birthing community such as: maternal morbidity and mortality, low birth weight, very low birth weight and premature births, and infant mortality. Services provided by Moniquecolous S. Garner-Weeks utilize a combined skill set and knowledge from formal education, trainings and personal experiences to implement culturally competent, encouraging interactive dialog with individuals and/or their partners, intimate group settings, and community forums from all socio-economic backgrounds. Her approach is simply to act as a guide to prepare the individual through education to be empowered in finding their voice to communicate the experience they desire, be prepared for the transition ahead of them, and to be provided evidence based information to make informed decisions in having a comprehensive, well informed birth experience.
