Lisa Schwartz is a beloved wife, mom, actress, author, content creator, and survivor of Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM), a form of heart failure that occurs during or after pregnancy. You may know her as the voice of Talking Angela from the Talking Tom series, but beyond television, Lisa has a powerful story that’s saving lives.
After giving birth to her baby girl, Lisa experienced what she thought was normal new mom fatigue. Instead, she was experiencing heart failure. Like so many women, she had never been warned about PPCM, despite it being a leading cause of maternal death.
“I thought I was just tired from being a new mom... but my heart was actually failing. No one warned me. Now, I speak so another mother never has to say, 'I didn’t know.'"
— Lisa Schwartz, PPCM Survivor, Advocate, and Actress
Lisa’s journey was featured in a powerful LetsTalkPPCM YouTube interview, where she opened up about the warning signs she missed and the lack of education she received. Since then, she’s committed to using her voice, not just in TV shows, but in real-life conversations that save lives.
Lisa is a proud member of MoMMA's Voices a national collective of women with lived maternal health experiences. She was a guest speaker on a PPCM segment with The Glaucomfleckens (podcast) using humor and storytelling. She also served as a host for March of Dimes "It Starts With Mom” live segment, bringing awareness, empathy, and education to the forefront of maternal health conversations.
In addition to advocacy, Lisa creates fun and relatable online content, and runs her own online boutique where fans can shop her bold, unique style. Learn more at LisaSchwartz.net.
