Early morning here.

While most people are just starting their day, there are families already carrying the weight… wondering what comes next, hoping today is different.

This is where those next steps begin. Quietly. Consistently. One decision at a time.

You’re not as stuck as it feels.

Day 4 of Spirit Week and the team showed up!

Wacky hats. Loud socks. Zero hesitation.
This is what culture actually looks like people leaning in, having fun, and showing up for each other.

Not staged. Not forced. Just real moments inside a strong team.

Alex connected with other behavioral health marketers this week at a sober networking event hosted by Cumberland Heights and had a blast.

Strong conversations, real connections, and a reminder that this work is bigger than any one of us.

This is how strong recovery communities get built.

Question: Who’s someone in your network that’s made a difference for you lately?

Wednesday Spirit Day at Focus

Different teams. Same purpose.

Today our staff showed up repping what they love. Hockey, football, baseball and everything in between.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the jersey. It’s about showing up for people, staying connected, and being part of something that matters.

Proud of this team and the energy they bring every day.

of course it feels like you’re falling short

you don’t need a different body
you need a different standard

Weight stigma does damage, even when it is disguised as “motivation.”

A large 2024 review looked across 242 studies and found a consistent relationship between weight stigma and disordered eating.

So if you have ever felt shamed into “getting it together,” and it only made things worse, you are not wrong. Shame does not heal people.

Question: What is one sentence you wish you had heard earlier, instead of criticism?

Green looks good on us 💚

Our team showed up for St. Patrick’s Day during Spirit Week, and it was a great reminder of what makes Focus special. Smiles, laughter, and people who genuinely enjoy being part of something bigger.

Recovery is serious work, but moments like this matter too. Connection, community, and showing up for each other every day.

A 2025 study linked social media use with disordered eating symptoms in college students.
That matters because so much content rewards extremes: rigid rules, fear foods, before-and-after thinking, “clean” everything.

If your feed makes you feel guilty, behind, or out of control, you do not need a better diet. You might need a healthier relationship with food and your body.

Question: Do you feel better or worse after scrolling nutrition content?

Apparently we have more twins on staff than we realized.

Today kicked off Spirit Week with staff matching up, having some fun, and bringing a little extra energy into the building.

The work we do every day is serious, but the team behind it can still have a good time together.

More Spirit Week photos coming all week.

Good conversations can change a life.
Matt and Scott had the chance to spend some time with a local scout group this weekend talking about something every young person eventually faces… life choices.

The discussion covered decision-making, staying clear of drugs and alcohol, and why the people you surround yourself with matter.

Always great to see young people asking thoughtful questions and thinking about their future.

Thanks to the scouts for inviting Focus to share a little wisdom.

March is National Nutrition Month.
And here’s what nobody says loud enough: nutrition is powerful, but perfection is not.

If food choices are running your life, stealing your peace, or turning every day into a mental battle, that is not “discipline.” That is suffering.

This month, let’s discover a healthier kind of power:
More flexibility. More peace. More you.

Question: What would change in your life if food took up 50% less space in your brain?
