Our Story

Helping People Help Themselves since 1971

We work with Adults with Disabilities in Lewis County, Washington to help them develop the skills they need to effectively work and live in our community. The individuals we work with range from 18 to 70 plus. Many are DDD and DVR clients, A number are Homeless and a number are unfunded. We help DDD and DVR clients in the following areas: Employment Assessment: By doing an analysis of the individual's vocational assets and limitations to obtaining and maintaining employment. Work Skill Building: Helping them develop work skills and providing the training necessary to attain, perform and/or retain employment; per-employment preparation; remediation of behavioral problems which are barriers to the person's employment; and/or mobility/transportation training. Job Development: Identification and location of a competitive employment opportunity for an individual DVR client. This activity is for the specific purpose of gaining actual employment and not a "work" experience for purposes of assessment of work skill building. Job Retention: Providing intervention, assistance, training and advocacy to assure on-going employment during the first 60 consecutive calendar days of employment or until closure. Job Support Services: Remunerative work which will maintain the person served at his/her maximum vocational skill level.
